L99 AFM- exhaust mod?

First , I realize this is over discussed already- but the more I read the more I am lost . Had I known about the AFM , I would never have bought the L99. Anyway, I have $450-$600 that I wanted to spend on exhaust upgrade. I wil not be able to do a tune for a couple of years due to warranty fears.
Should I even bother with the exhaust since it appears it will make the AFM worse. It is sad when you can barely hear your exhaust at idle, even worse when you rev it up and it sounds like a 4 cylinder.
Please help.

Go with a Magnaflow Comp axleback. You will retain your resonators, so the AFM won't be bad at all. Magnaflow is the best IMO. Another guy, camaroRND2 is about to chime in...

I have the Magnaflow comp 3" catback on my untuned L99 and it isn't that loud at all. No way an axle back would sound much better than stock. Just looks better.

Here is a WOT dyno pull with said system. Only mods are an intake / TB and the above exhaust.
Notice people in the video talking about how quiet it is.

Then view the burnout vid. GO pro2 mounted right on lower back window.

Muffler Delete with a Tune(you'll be fine). Muffler Delete $90. JRE Tuner and Tune $399. And save money for headers. IMO

OP does NOT want a tune. Muffler delete would sound horrible without one.

The Catback and Axleback will sound very close. With less than 600whp, there is no reason for a full 3". Plus, he can do an axle back for roughly $400, not $1200 for a catback.

I would argue that, muffler delete sounds awesome. The AFM is more noticeable, but it isn't horrible. And if you paddle shift, problem solved.

Paddle Shifting to get rid of AFM... just made your car a manual. I don't get the point of that really, you bought an auto so you don't have to shift. I don't like the muffler delete, sounds raspy and I've never liked the stock tips anyways.

I didnt like the muffler delete either, to loud and raspy for my taste. I just bought a pair of flowmasters and had a muffler shop replace the factory cans and they reused the factory tips. It gave the car a lower tone than stock and the AFM is about the same as it was before. At WOT it has a more aggressive tone but not so loud it draws attention. All this was done for around 135$ mufflers included. I havent noticed any hp gains and didnt expect any, I just wanted my car to sound like a v8.

i dont know if it was mentioned yet but Magnaflow tends to do the trick well with giving these cars an amazing sound. hold on im just waking up and i think i stuttered alittle bit MAGNAFLOW. the only complaint i had is right after i boughtthe exhaust i spent another 5 grand on other parts because the exhaust convince me that mods were a need and not a want

How is the Magnaflow axleback any different than just any other muffler delete?
Would it make any sense to put in a x pipe to clear all of the other nonsense out?

a 3" catback without a tune will leave you dissapointed. i turned it on once a while back to see what it sounds like. unfortunately it sounds like your cars is letting out a big fart when the amf comes on. you really do not realize how often if comes on, but its actually active often.
