I'm just curious if anyone else here keeps all their parts for their car. I'm the type of person who wants to keep all their stock parts, in the event I need to take an aftermarket part off, or am having a problem I like to have the ability to put the stock stuff back. I notice many people here selling there parts and this is what sparked my interest in asking. Is the general consensus that you won't need them so might as well get it out of the garage?

My little list of parts I've kept:

I have 3 sets of wheels, 45ths and 2 sets of RS wheels. One set of RS is on my car powdercoated black.
Stock exhaust and GMPP Mufflers: I recently purchased the solo cat back system from a member here.
Stock airbox
Stock reverse lights
45th dash inserts
Stock Shiftknob
2 sets of stock Lugnuts (plus the chrome ones on my car)
License plate bracket (this doesn't mean anything to me, glad I was able to remove it from the front my the car.

As you can imagine this stuff takes up room lol.

What does everyone else keep or not keep?

Fun fact. Just installed my new solo hfc's. GM has the number one most stolen catalytic converters. Reason being there is platinum is their component. If you cant sell the part to a camaro owner, a scrapper would be more than happy to take them off your hands.

Not to side track, but what exhaust do you have? I just put on the solo mach x cat back and want to do the HFC's. Want to hear it.

I keep everything. I have:
4 sets of wheels (1 set on the car) and I'm 1 wheel short of a 5th set.
2- stock grills (1 on the car)
Stock exhaust
Stock shift knob
Stock non RS headlights
And when I had a CAI I had stock air box

Yes absolutely I keep everything I take off the car, even when I did the widebody kit I still kept the bumpers, the fenders, everything. Obviously the body work like fenders I can't really do much with, but if you ever return it back to stock to trade in, it would be nice to take off all the aftermarket parts and sell them off the car, you'll get more value out of your aftermarket parts you take off rather than just try to sell the car with the mods on.

I have everything, but I'm thinking of selling the V6 brakes. The rear dust shields and master cylinder conversion are just too labor intensive to consider un-installing if I ever sell the car. So by that logic, I guess the spare tire can go as well since it will no longer fit.

Those of us who have been into cars for many years know the importance of STOCK. Keep the parts. Put them in the trunk, or on a shelf in your garage.

I pulled the LS3 at 651 miles for a LSX & supercharger. Stock engine is on a stand in my garage. The only tear off I haven't kept it the exhaust pipes.

I have the npp. The npp is a good sounding stock exhaust. But my god when you put those solo hfc's on there its amazing. I was thinking well when i put the hfc's on and maybe still want more sound Ill just buy something else, but i am totally happy with this and dont plan on changing out the npp. plus being able to open and close the exhaust with my garage door buttons is pretty cool.

Only stock part I've kept is my air box so I can smog the car. I just don't have the room for the stock parts and selling for a few bucks now to recoupe the cost of aftermarket parts to me makes sense, I'll worry about long term in the long term lol
