So as I'm understanding this, the clear epoxy isn't going to give a super smooth shiny finish so the clear auto quality paint is going to go on to get that done? I just ordered the epoxy and the fabric. 36 oz of epoxy resin and a 48"x50" roll of 2x2 fabric was only $76. And $18 of that was shipping, so this stuff is really pretty inexpensive.

To get the best look, you will need to sand the resin smooth once applied with 800 grit sand paper to get rid of any low or high spots, then clear coat it. I have not tried it with spray can clear, only automotive clear, so I can not say how well it would turn out.
