I have the sunroof on the IBM and no one even sees it till they get in. Very discrete from the outside. Really opens up the cabin interior, and nicely ventilates the car without having the windows down/wind in your face (girlfriend complains LOL).
Also at night or in the city, lets you see what's above.

It would be interesting to see what percentage of of the first 40,000 Camaros have the sunroof. I bet its pretty large for a $900.00 option. Is there a way of finding out ?.

I use the sunroof everytime I drive her. Agree with what MEDISIN posted about letting fresh air in without the wind. The one touch to vent or open is nice, prolly use it more because of that, yes I'm lazy. I may be one of the few but I like how it looks open as well.

We decided not to get the Sun roof for 3 reasons.
1. When extended, the SR makes the car look weird IMO 2. It does reduce the headroom in the car 3. It's one more thing that can leak or have other issues 4. (I know I said 3) If you leave it open just once, for just 10mins, and a sudden rain storm hits, you're screwed! |

I really, really like my sunroof. That being said, just about every vehicle I've owned, including my current Yukon, has had a sunroof and I never used them. (I think I occasionally opened the roof in my F250 King Ranch) But I open this cars sunroof every time I get in it unless it's raining. I just love the light it lets in and fresh air. It adds to the driving pleasure of this vehicle.
I shot some pictures real quick of my IOM with sunroof. I'm too lazy to pull her out of the garage for pictures right now so you'll have to excuse the poor lighting and the fact I couldn't get very far away for full body shots. Edited to add: sorry about the third picture being so big. I thought I resized them all but apparently missed that one. |

I love the sunroof for all of the mentioned reasons and use it EVERY time I drive the car -- if it's raining I just open the vent.
The one thing I wish it did was close with one touch like it opens. You can feel the second click on the switch when you press it all the way in, like it's supposed to have express close, I just wish it worked. Some kind of close when you hit the remote lock would be nice, too. |
