On some vehicles, you can run cats and 02 extenders and get away without having the CEL come on...but not this car.

Another difference I found?
My research indicates that the BBK's are a 1 5/8" primary tube. The OBX are a 1 3/4" tube.

So far I have found this comment on the web:

A somewhat surprising event on dyno runs with different sized tubes of headers on an otherwise static engine configuration show that, within reason, headers with larger than necessary tubes don't degrade torque or horsepower to any extent worth worrying about.

I then found this article that might help too:

Trust me if you don't need cats OBX is the best way to go, if not go BBK. I spent 350 and I am in heaven with my set up. Listen you will get a little more smell in the exhaust, but these things work the bottom torque for sure for 200 less.

I wouldn't group buy for more if I didn't need too.

I'm in if we are doing it without cats. Hell if the need arises you can always add some later on down the road.

On a side note, and I know this has been hammered to death, but would it be safe to opt out for the tune for the time being? I most likely wouldn't end up running the car until summer so i would be driving it for a couple thousand miles with the LTs without the trifecta tune. Would this damage the car in anyway?
