Worried about the new LS7 in the Camaro
Hey guy's if all the LS7 hype is true I will be jumping on a new 2014 LS7 Camaro (Hope Fully Z28 )
My question is that I have seen that the LS7 engine in the Z06s have been having valve issues in the 07 to 09 model Zs and also some reported issues in the 09 and up. This has been happening to stock cars as well as modified cars.Has GM done anything to fix this issue?? are they going to stuff the LS7 engine into the Camaro with this issue?? Or am I going to have to take the my new car back to the dealership for exploding (Over dramatic) on me? Here is the link to the Z Forum where they address the issue but there is no real mention of a Fix. (mind you I didn't read all the pages) http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...confirmed.html |

Much of the LS7 "issue" can be traced to the dry-sump system...but a company called Peterson came up with a fix...
The other "issue" has to do with "boost", be it mechanical or gaseous, neither of which were intended environments for an OEM-built hypereutectic-pistoned engine... 1SS + 1LE + LS7 + ZL1 Brakes = my earned business! |

Funny. So many used to be worried it would not come. One worry always replaces another.
LS7 great engine, no worries. Wish I had one. Now the big worry about the Z28 should be ADM.

I wouldn't be suprised if the LS7 goes into a NA ZL1.

Lingenfelter is the call I would make to inquire. Those guys know the engine quit well and will help you decide on if you should upgrade any of the hardware.
