2013 V6 LFX HELP!!!

Hey everyone, new question here! What changes would one do to make their 2012/13 Camaro a tad louder than stock? I'm not talking an entire new exhaust or muffler delete, as those make the car go from almost silent to loud. I am talking about not having a stock v6 sound on the car and sounding like every other v6 camaro with the same stock sound. I would like to know what is in-between if there is such a thing! What will make the car louder than when it was started on day 1 out of dealer? Nothing that creates drone and much in cabin sound, but something outside that sounds a drop deeper and louder both at start-up, idle and revving... This is aside from trying to get a ton of sound, or the most sound possible for this car, this is just about getting it louder, but not Noisy annoying LOUD if that makes sense!! If this was a car for fun, I would certainly not mind annoying, window shattering loudness, but this is the car I have to take every single day of my life to work and school!! So enough sound that makes people say, my camaros not that loud, or that car has a nice sound, not oh my gosh, that is crazy loud, what kind of car is it!! Thanks for putting up with my crap, but please answer this for me!!

Nothing except doing something to the exhaust. Here is a link from my 2013 Camaro 1LT with Solo HFC and Corsa cat back exhaust. Listen to the video and when I say it cruising at 75 mph you will notice no drone or exhaust noise except the tire noise. This is my daily driver and drive 60 m iles everyday and it's not tiredsom. I don't hear the exhaust unless I stomp on the gas and thats the way it sould be. Here is the link.

I had the dealer install the GM performance exhaust on mine. I think it gives it a good sound not too loud but loud enough to hear it coming.

What happens if you take a stock ls2 out of the car lot right now, leave stock mufflers, everything else leave, but just remove the 2 stock resonators and replace with straight pipes... What would that do? Would that be an easy way to create that little bit louder noise I would want? Or, does that create a lot more noise and bring drone and that stuff into play?! Thanks!

It will make it louder but you will have a drone for sure. For what you are looking for the only way is to put a cat-back system on. There are many but my favorite is the Corsa but everyone is different. Sorry, no easy cheap fix for a louder camaro without drone.

Ok, wait, please stay on here and help me get to the bottom of this!!! What if I just left resonators alone and replace stock mufflers with 2 flowmaster mufflers? Please understand, I dont have money for the mrt 2.0, I am aware I wont get that good of a sound without spending that much money, etc... But how about 2 flowmaster mufflers, either the street series or super 40, just the mufflers to replace the mufflers that came on the car!! Then will there be drone, or no drone at all? How much noise interior with just doing that? Thank you so much!

I love my MRT V2 axel back now that they have seasoned in. But they may still be a little loud for you. From what I heard the MRT V2 with a Magneflow resonated X pipe would probably give you the sound you are looking for once they have seasoned in. Another good choice would be the Dynomax VT. I heard they are a little quieter.

Well, not sure about the flowmaster replacement for the stock mufflers but pretty sure you will have drone. You might want to try a search. If I was you, I would just save your money until you could afford a cat back system designed for our cars. You won't regret it.

Magnaflow 40 series mufflers have a resonance chamber designed to eliminate drone. I don't know if they have one to fit the V6 Camaro though.

I was itching to get a new exhaust but didnt want that constant loud noise. Went with a short ram intake and that did it for me! Once you slam on the pedal, you get a new open/deeper tone noise and it sounds AMAZING!
