Paint chip :(

Found a paint chip on my door when i was cleaning it. Its a black car and the paint chip is white and i can definitely feel it with my nail. Is there any chance it could rust? There probly isn't any chance my dealer will fix it even though theres 200 miles on it and it had a previous chip on it when i bought it. So can anyone link me to a paint chip remover and the link to the video of the guy with the yellow camaro that shows how to do it. Very sad day for me :(

Mine is yellow but I'm not the expert. But I do recommand that you install EOM Splash Guards. No chips on mine ever since installed. Worth the money....

This car is notorious for paint chips... crazy.
SSiick, what the hell?! That looks ... horrific. Can't you get a fix under warranty? 7000 miles lol your car is so high mileage; this should be expected

Haha yea tell me about it! I have a case opened and am working to get it resolved. I really hope GM steps up and will repaint my rockers and the affected areas followed by a set of molded splash guards which I have waiting to be installed. On a $37k car this is unacceptable after 7k miles.

no just awful luck. I'm really going to give the dealer hell because this has to be a bad paint job. I mean my car CAME with chip and a dust underneath paint. Now after 200 miles another chip. Going to give them a call tomorrow. The more i try to baby this car the more problems that occur :P

Holy $h!t 16K here and I know where every one is, I have 5 chips total. I would cry if mine looked like that haha. Must be some tough roads you have to take I guess.

I'm opening my self up for this one but in a former life I was part of the project team that built the paint shop the camaro's are coated in. My particular role was as a technical adviser for the powder primer system installation, debug, and launch. Long story short, are you sure it's white under the black and not light gray. The reason I ask is we launched the system with white and gray. White for light colors and gray for darker. With that said SSick, can you PM those pics and a description of the roads you drive on. I've still got a friend up there who may be interested in seeing those pictures. I was not involved in the path work for the camaro's as I left early in 06. BTW I've got about 10 years in paint 7 of which are dealing with the OEM's on coating application and approvals in the plants. Please feel free to shoot me questions on coatings as I love to bs them
