ticking noise with v6 camaro

I have a 2010 Camaro v6.. when im next to a barrier or wall or building, im trying to pin point it down but it either when i shift or hit the gas, i hear this like just 1 tick, pop, whatever you want to say it is... if im sitting in a garage and put it in reverse, and start to go you will here is tick once.. when i am going forward tho i hear it when i hit the gas, then let off the gas... is this something to be worried about?

Normal function of a direct injection motor. My new ecoboost F150 sounds the same way.

It's normal. I freaked out as well when I heard mine and took it to my dealer. They told me it means the engine is just doing it's job

The ticking noise you hear when the engine is running is the injectors. The one tick or pop noise you hear when you put the car in reverse is because you are probably missing your thrust washers. Some early models where built missing them. Its an easy fix at the dealer the TSB bulletin # 09-04-001b. You can read a lot more about this on this forum just do a search for thrust washers.
