Hey C5 members im having a cookout air show party at my place on may 16th were smoking brisket kalbasa. hamburgs on the grill hotdogs too we live right on the end of the base. this is going to be a big show its a two day show Saturday the 16th of may and the 17th any one who wants can stay over for the two day show. their featuring 4 big acts this year the blue angels the Canadian snow birds the cf 18s demo team. which is Canadian f18s if you never seen this demo team they take these planes through their paces like none other also the gieco sky writer team here is the website you can keep track of what acts are coming. http://www.greatnewenglandairshow.com/ any one who wants to go pm me I will give you my phone number and address ilive right on main road into base and it gets backed up with traffic. to beat traffic be here around 8am or earlier

Cool that sounds like a great time. Brings back memories. Use to be based at BDL Bradley in the Regional Airline Days back in the mid 80's and had a Duplex off of Carroll St in Springfield and then a Crashpad while Commuting on Lake Congamond in Southwick. Use to love going to the Westover Airshow. Do they still have the C5s based there? Great to see it still going on and the Angels back in the Air again

Hey, that is a really nice thing your doing there. Sounds like fun.

Just might add this show to my list this year. Looks like about a 6 hr drive for me, straight through the Adirondacks. If weather is good, it could be a real nice drive down and back.

I can vouch for the Snowbirds and CF-18 Demo. While the Snowbirds aren't flying state of the art stuff, their precision and grace with formations of up to 9 aircraft is simply spectacular. And the Demo team really throws that CF-18 around for some great thunder and zoom action.

I'm a real warbird buff and go to air shows mostly for the vintage stuff, but the jets can be fun to watch. I've never been to this show and have tried to get to at least one new show a year for the last five years.

Looked at the previous year's air show pics on the website and I see some warbirds there so looking forward to seeing the line up develop as we get closer to the date.

I'm a big time photography nut so I'd be interested in any info on whether they have a good setup for the photo guys.

Thanks a lot. Canon glass: 400 f/2.8 IS mostly and the 70-200 IS II for formations. 24-70 II for static displays.

Innnteresting. Every mid-may, my daughter and I go on a road trip. Two years ago It was Boston, Nova Scotia before that... we cover a lot of miles and she loves horsepower. Hmmm...

I would make the trip up but I'm already booked for South Carolina. Joe you're doing it right and giving plenty of notice too. Sound s like a great time and wish I could go.
