There are all kinds of XM horror stories. It's a real wart on GMs recovery in my opinion. Not to mention GMs snails pace at getting simple things taken care of.

The Dealer has been great but GM not so much.

Deal with them at your own risk. They are dangerous.

After you deal with XM, make sure you notify GM of your experience, and if they get enough complaints, trust me, they will reconsider dealing with them.
MAKE SURE YOU LET GM KNOW!

i only get paper bills from them no credit card involved!! after they double billed me on the first renewal period. got 5 months for $25.00 call them but if you get their out source countries hang up and try again till you get a North American customer service. much easier to deal with..

just my opinion...

I almost wonder if ones experience with XM has to do with ones dealer. I know I had no problems other than a few phone calls that went straight to the answering machine and a couple of mailings. Funny thing is if they offered to bundle the price of lifetime service into my loan when I bought it I might have considered it. Glad they didn't though. Cause I don't really miss it.

So what happens after your free trial exprires when you buy the car? Does it just shut off and thats that? They already called me after one week and were asking how it was. She was suprised when I said I dont listen to satelitte radio (since I work in terrestrial radio) I could really feel the sales pressure bigtime and mostly kept messing with her by saying stuff I knew would get a rouse out of her. She asked if I wanted to extend the free trial period for a meager processing fee to which I said no thanks.

In fact, has anyone called them and said just cancell everything right now, free trial or not, just get rid of it?

I called them and told them to stop at my trial end date. I heard calling is better than waiting to be called. I got what seemed to be a US person and told them the wife had recently lost her job and I didn't want any extra expenses. Had to listen to the sales pitch for about 2 min but still said no. She said....ok...I marked your account and have a nice day. We'll see how that goes. I just did that like 2 days ago and my trial ends this weekend.

Try calling them instead of them calling you.....800-547-8118

They will re-up everyone at the end of any subscription "automatically" and at the current highest possible rate.
This is their business model. If you must do business with them, never provide anything that can be re-charged (including checks, they can reuse the routing and account numbers to re-bill you). They also will continue to bill you even if they have no means to charge it to and eventually sell the debt to a collection agency. There are only two kinds of customer experiences with Sirius/XM: those who have been shafted by them and those who have not YET been.
