They both seem to perform about the same right now...

No offense to everyone with a slow L99. I'm sure GM will get you fixed up soon enough...

I have 1,400 miles on mine with a cold air intake and I am getting 18.5 mpg atm with close to 350 a tank I do believe(Have checked the mpg but not the tank) and this is with a ss, also with a lead foot at times. So if your only getting 300 with a v6 that doesnt seem correct to me.

M6, LS3 DIC says 18.9, 700 miles mostly driving in town, very seldom get out of 4th gear, been real easy on it so far another couple of hundred miles (1000) get my oil changed and then will really see what she is about, not really concerned with gas mileage though, didn't buy a muscle car for gas mileage, have my 92 honda civic for that( 41 mpg)178000 on it, been a real good car.

I'd love to see this in my car. That's back up to my 2000 V6 Camaro! Do you shift 1-2-3-4-5-6 or do you skip at all?

Mostly go up through the gears. I have hit the Skip shift maybe a dozen times since I picked up the car. I only have 1600 miles on the car. So we shall see what happens as it loosens up a bit.

It seems like the V6 and V8 both get mid 20's for MPG if its highway use only?

I wonder how they drove the V6 to get the said 29MPG rating? Downhill with a tailwind?!

^^That's pretty crazy that the V6 is getting the same hw mileage as the V8.

As the saying goes...should've had a V8!

I guess it's all in how you are driving the v6. If I drive in moderate freeway traffic and stay at or near the speed limit, I've been able to pull in a bit over 28mpg, according to the computer. I won't have a good idea of pure long distance highway driving mpg until we take a trip up to Memphis for Thanksgiving.

I filled up Saturday night and put about 30 miles on my v6 driving to work this morning in moderate traffic on the freeway (23 miles) and regular city traffic (7 miles) and the computer was showing 26.5mpg avg when I went out at lunch.
