It does. Both the SS and V6 Camaro are listed as having more hp than their Mustang counterparts. What's your point? I was just saying it's great that there is competition.

DEALER PERSPECTIVE ON 2011 CHANGES

I've been watching GM Global Connect since late yesterday to see these changes and as of right now (10:40am) there is still nothing sent to dealers.

So, please do all of us dealers a favor. Please don't call your local dealer asking for info that you now know that we don't have. Your dealer is NOT an idiot. We have not been informed of these changes unless we are Camaro5 members.

Why GM has chosen not to keep us in the loop is beyond me but I am asking this small favor of you.

We do this for a living but now you can see how we don't get the info in a timely fashion and it is not our fault.

Thanks.

I'll get off my soapbox now.

Like a few have said...I don't know what folks were expecting as far as HP goes with the V8?

Honestly....who goes to the track stock? Yeah, maybe the first or second time but most of us who hit the track go modified...so who cares what the other guy has stock because the chance of you lining up next to a stock 5.0 at the track is slim to none!

Good changes overall...I could care less about HUD. Never had it, seen it before and wasn't all that impressed really. Cool feature yeah...needed, not at all.

V6 HP bump is nice...average car buyer will see the HP difference and it will be a deciding factor on their purchase...as long as it still gets 29/30 mpg.

I do think a gear option and power passenger seat was needed. It only makes sense but guess that wasn't in the cars this year (at least not yet).

Full ABL would have been nice as well.

312hp is good for marketing though. I think they should have went more for MPG for the V6 segment though.
Until the mustang got over 30 mpg the camaro's output of mpg was unbelievable. And I didn't say anything about power to weight but I agree with you.

I'm pleased about finally getting the HUD and the power bump in the V6, however I was really hoping to get some tweaks to the suspension to give the car better road holding and steering feel because they is always the area where the mustang gets the nod over the Camaro in comparisons. I think they need to do something because not only does the GT have better handling (this in inexcusable... they have a solid rear axle!) but now it's a little faster too. Lets see a bump in power to the v8 or a change in gearing to get better acceleration. Ok my rants done lol

If there are no changes to the V8 models, then it is official... "stock" Mustang will beat up a "stock", both V6 and V8. Even though the V6 & V8 have more hp's, the weight differential alone will be enough for the Mustang to beat them up.

For those saying what did you expect from a 2nd year model? Ford did the exact same thing. Redesigned the car last year, and changed the engines this year and just changed the engines this year.

Despite being a dealer, you're not an idiot, but for the other members, let's not give them a mixed message. Guys, your dealer is still an idiot for other reasons, but this isn't one of them.

Yes the MPG for the camaro are great. And even with the mustang they are great.

But I think most people buying the v6s will be more worried about fuel economy than hp.

good to see they added those things.. kind of a no brainer and marketing tool, either way i dont see anything to get an edge over a 2011 gt performance wise

No the stang has about a 300 lb advantage for the v6 and 250lb advantage for the v8s.

Cool changes!!! It'll be even more interesting after we get the complete low-down.

Good job GM!

I just know that there are (unnamed) members who thrive on calling dealers for no other reason than to try to "flex" their product knowledge "muscles".

I'll post here when I get OFFICIAL notice. Let's see the time lag.
