Alot of times when your Test and Tuning you dont go based off the green light, set your launch RPM and slip the clutch whenever. I think ive had a couple 2-4 seconds R/T's and ran low 12's.

For some it does matter, others it does not.

For those that trap speed only matters, it could be for a variety of reasons.

In my case, it's because of real world driving (like when you are rolling side to side with someone and punch it), road course racing(coming out of the turns onto a straight), etc.

I can think of a couple of 4WD cars that have awesome 1/4 mile times, even better 0-60 times, but really lousy trap speeds. For my application, I appreciate decent trap speed over 0-60 or 1/4 mile, but for others, it's not the case and that is ok too.

No need to get butthurt and defensive... Trap speeds do matter to tons of people actually as explained above. Trap speed ultimately shows which car is faster, meanwhile ET has a lot more variables involved like suspension set up, 60ft, driver (if manual trans), tires, ect. So it's just a little easier to use trap speed to measure the capability of a car. If you want to disagree to justify your trap speed (which isn't bad to begin with) that's fine but no need to get salty about it. It's personal preference... ideally we all want a car that ETs super fast and traps super fast which can of course be achieved with enough money to build it, but if I had to choose one or the other for a street driven car I'd rather have a 125mph car any day of the week than a sub-120mph car.

Comes down to the driver. We have the real transmission. The better driver gets a better time. If this was an auto where you floor it and fall asleep I guess the mods take over. But with these cars it's a bit different. Focus on beating your own times and watch just how fast you get.

This was my 2nd time ever being a drag strip. My first time out I managed a best of 12.5 out of 8 runs, then when I went for the 2nd time I got the 12.1. I know the car is easily an 11 second car, but I'm just a 12 second driver right now. I just need more practice.

If you think all you do is floor it and fall a sleep in an automatic to run fast times you have a lot to learn. It may be easier, but there is a lot of skill involved in running a modded automatic 5th gen down the track fast.

That might work for a stock Camaro on a sticky track, but that's about it.

Keep in mind this is much faster than an SS.

Sneakyworm, can you share any further info of your build? Cam specs, brand of cai, tuner?

Just in case, just want to be sure, PM me if you are uncomfortable sharing your specs out in the open
