After racing SCRMING in back to back runs and having him TREE me (I was busy watching him leave or was taking a nap) I decided to work on getting a better R/T on the next pass. I red lighted, the only 1 in 14 passes. However the next two passes (last two of the day) I was really concentrating on the start. It worked. I had a .064 and a .098 my best two of the day. Now I just need to find some drag radials for next season.

That time also was on probably my 20th pass of the day, so close to 13s, but just couldn't get there. My car took a beating that day, kept teasing me that it could go lower.

Here is some interesting info that SCRMING put together for another thread about the CAI's. I then took it to the next step and posted the same thing but for the exhaust.
So for those who are looking to go faster here are the top ten in statistical fashion. Bolt Ons (Modified airway, exhaust, tires, tune - no internal engine or power adders): 1. 13.787 @ 100.49 - scrming - A6 - (Injen CAI, MRT v2.0 Axle Back, JBA Shorty Headers, Trifecta Tune, Drag Radials) 2. 13.861 @ 101.02 - ROD1 - A6 - (Hoosier DRs, Injen CAI, MRT v2.0 Axle Back, ARH Longtubes, Trifecta Tune) 3. 13.959 @ 101.04 - 67 GTO - A6 - (Injen CAI, GMPP Axle Back, JBA Shorty Headers) 4. 13.995 @ 99.40 - usa1camaro1969 - M6 - (K&N CAI, BBK Long Tubes/High Flow Cats, Cherry Bomb V8 Cat Back) 5. 14.024 @ 100.37 - rtcat600man - A6 - (Injen CAI, MRT v2.0 Axle Back) 6. 14.026 @ 100.24 - priz23 - A6 - (CAI Inc. CAI, Flowmaster AT Axle Back) 7. 14.041 @ 99.32 - devildoc - A6 - (Airaid v2.0, IAT Relocate, MRT v2.0 Axle Back, ARH Longtubes/High Flow Cats, Trifecta Tune) 8. 14.059 @ 98.08 - Beauwulf - A6 - (Airaid CAI, MRT v1.0 Axle Back, Trifecta Tune) 9. 14.104 @ 97.95 - efpardo - A6 - (Roto-fab CAI, High Flow Cats, Solo Mach XLT Cat Back) 10. 14.194 @ 98.88 - BaylorAirForce - A6 - (Airaid v2.0, MRT v1.0 Axle Back, SS midpipes, ARH Long Tubes/High Flow Cats, Trifecta Tune) 4 - Injen 3 - Airaid Ver 2 (Beauwulf's is really like a Ver 2 since he had it tuned to correct his Ver 1) 1 - K&N 1 - CAI Inc. 1 - Roto-Fab 4 - MRT 2.0 Axle Back 2 - MRT 1.0 Axle Back 1 - GMPP Axle Back 1 - Flowmaster Axle Back 1 - Cherry BomB Cat Back 1 - Solo Cat Back

Corrected DA 1/4 mile times. (using stock and mildly modified naturally spirited engines corrections)

That is rather impressive. Shows you that it is tough to drive the stick down the 1/4 mile.

Once my hood has been modified, I'll sell my Injen. I have the AirRaid V2 that I will be using with it.
While one is less than three hours away, I never taken my Camaro to a 1/4 mile track. The 1/8th is about 45 minutes away. Best time in the 1/8 with the stock 18" all seasons, +605 DA was 8.927. What impressed me, this engine and tires had over 49,000 miles on them too! Those of you with lower mileage will have years of performance ahead. |
