Well today I washed and waxed Amber and finally installed my gills Now up close you to can totally see that they stick out but from a couple feet away they give that 3D effect which is what I totally wanted. Im glad I decided to plasti-dip them instead of leaving them chrome. Well here are the pics with the gill installed....

The middle on on the passenger side went M.I.A one day and took these off and replaced them with vinyl ones later in the thread. I would still recommend these they are a great product.

Got my 35% tint installed and I must say it def makes it look like a whole new car. I am perfectly happy with them. Just 2 days after getting them installed I was driving home from my gfs house and passed a cop who was sitting in the median. I passed him and as soon as I did he started to pull out of the median and all I could think was "o crap I just got these tints installed and I am already going to get a ticket" Luckily for me I never saw him again so I have no idea what he was doing. Here are a couple pics of the 35% tint on the sides and rear.

Unfortunatly one day on my way to work I got pulled over because my windows were too dark. Ended up taking off the driver and passenger side tint, doesn't look the same any more :( I hate NY.

Enough of the "Show" now the "Go"

Well today I installed my Roto-Fab CAI. This was my first time ever really working on a car, I don't think adding the catch can counted haha. It was a very easy install and the directions were very straight forward. Now with it in I haven't really felt any hp gains. One thing I do notice is that Amber sounds like she has a frog in her throat, in a good way. When I rev the engine I can hear a deeper sound and even when I hit the gas at around 3000RPMS I can really hear a difference. Also i am either going crazy, or I installed the cai wrong but when the gear changes I can sorta hear like a whistle sound idk. Anyways here are some pics of the roto-fab cai installed and how my engine bay looks to date.

Now as far as my engine bay goes I am planning on get a ADM scoop and a w/w relocator. I also saw a picture of what a fellow C5 member did to his engine bay (Ciscobee) and I must say that looks awesome and I really want to figure out how to do what he did. If some of you don't know what his looks like here it is. Also if anyone knows how I can go about making mine look like this any info is greatly appreciated

Of course everything in yellow will be IOM

It was nice out today so I decided to finally hide all the wires that i didn't hide yet from my footwell lights. I also switched out the dome light for an LED light instead. It looks much better in my opinion. I had the hardest time trying to get the light cover off, and I'll just leave it at that won't go into detail.

Original Dome light

How it normally looks.

LED Dome Light

How it now looks.

Enjoy.

Now I was also going to do the trunk light but I couldn't fit the new LED into the holder and I some how managed to burn out a row of LEDs so I just left it the way it was, o well.

Well today I finally managed to install my MRT v2 exhaust. I cut the driver's side off first and had a hard time getting the new exhaust to fit over the old one but I eventually just used a hammer to bend the new one a little to fit over the old one. And luckily it aligned perfect so we didn't need to do much there. Now the passenger side one was the complete opposite. It was easy to fit over but wIhad the hardest time aligning it. I finally decided to just tighten the clamp and then worry about aligning the tip but luckily once I tightened it the alignment was perfect. All I can say is thank god for no more of those ugly trashcans hanging down. They really were huge and heavy no idea what GM was thinking putting those things on. Managed to lose about 30lbs. I did end up cutting off the tips of the old stock mufflers to use as pencil holders but not sure what I am going to do with the rest. Maybe I would be able to sell it to a scrap yard or something who knows. Here are a couple of pictures. I also upload a video of the cold start a day or two after installing the MRT v2.

Well today I decided to paint the area around my shifter and as I was trying to remove it I did not have the right tool to unscrew the shift knob so Ill have to do that for another day. But instead I decided to paint my 4-guage pack area. I did have a little trouble but in the end it looks nice, minus some little flaws. But here are some before and after pics.

Thanks I'll have to redo the 4-guage area. There are some flaws with the clear coat hopefully I can just peel it off or something and redo it. I don't really wanna redo the whole thing.

Well my Black Ice-olator arrived (Thank you JHenfling). Finally got to install it and it took me about 2 hours but that included finding all the tools I needed and a couple of distractions. The bolts in the back really were a pain in the ass but it didn't take me that long to take them off. I attached the ice-olator to the intake manifold when it was off as oppossed to placing the intake manifold on the ice-olator. Thought it would be easier to use the RTV and not have to worry about putting too much on since it was easy to wipe off that way. I also took off the plenum cover and cleaned off all the oil on that, the intake manifold and the original gasket under the intake manifold. I really wish I would have gotten my catch can sooner but atleast I have one now. My CEL did come on but I just disconnected the battery for a little bt and reconnected it and the problem was fixed. I did noticed some more power but I bet once the ECU relearns everything that power will increase. I also think that once the engine has been running awhile I will def notice more power than before. (but what do I know, everything I have learned about this car or cars in general as come from C5) I also should prob look into getting a ported IM. I also removed the bracket that the throttle body was connected to since it is useless now.

Also now that the engine cover isn't on anymore I will have to do some work to make the engine bay look somewhat nicer then what it does already. I do plan on getting a RX breather which would eliminate that big hose on the drivers side of the IM.

In other news I "TRIED" to paint my auto bezel and it came out horrible. I messed it up so bad that I had to buy a new one and I will most likely get it painted professionally from Gary's Customs. Right now I painted it with plasti-dip so it doesn't look horrible but it is still bad. Now these are very embarrissing pics on how bad I screwed up. I had to end up sanding down the old paint.
