My dealer called today...exciting news he had
My dealer, Joe of Freeland Chev in Nashville called me this morning and told me that my order was picked up for production this morning however, the gray strip option was on "Constaint" and if I did not remove the stripe then, they were passing over me to another order with no constraint. I pulled the stripe option as I can get stripes in the aftermarket. Joe called the Chevy zone order guy back to pull the stripes for me and the fellow informed Joe that my car would go to production today and would be ON THE Ground in 4 weeks,.....max 5 weeks. If you ordered that stripe package I did, check with your dealer if you were status 3000 as I was, to make sure you are not passed over. No gray stripe and 4 to 5 week delivery. I ordered at 9:00 a.m. on October 29th (first day with $3000 deposit on my own volition) and hit 3000 in early December. Order #PZDPQJ. Joe the sales mgr and John Brown my salesman have not only been good to me, they have made this a lot of fun to work with them!

It's not the gray stripe that is on constrait as such - its the Exposed Carbon Weave Insert (and therefore Gray Stripe if you ordered the stripe package and exposed insert)

Just wanted to make sure you knew you were not getting the Exposed Insert anymore either incase this wasn't made clear to you

I don't think I would hold my breath on that 4 to 5 weeks ...

"on the ground" does not mean "in your driveway" or even "at your dealer". All it means is that it has been built and is off the production line.

My new 2012 Jeep SRT8 was "on the ground" Sept 29th. It was "in my driveway" Dec 14th.

Not trying to be bummers, just being realistic. I don't think we will see any cars before late March to early April. That's just my thought ...

I hear from reliable sources that production will begin the 3rd week of January. They've been 100% so far with their magic8balls.

I just got the same call 5 minutes ago, gave me the same choice, I removed it so he said it might go into production on Tuesday!

ZL1 Nashville

Appreciate everyone's comments however, to wit, the Forum....I would accept an official Chevy zone manager's time table over someone else's wild guess on delivery dates. The zone guy wasn't saying to my dealer; kinda, sorta, possibly maybe....he said 4 to 5 weeks in my dealer's showroom. Regardless, it gets here when it gets here!

Oh, I forgot to mention regarding the response above pertaining to the carbon insert....I did not order that option so they were actually asking to cancel my gray stripe package.

You can not have the gray stripe without the exposed carbon fiber insert.
