switch for drl halos

I'm putting some halos in my drls and i'm going to be putting them on a switch. Is it possible to put a switch in the middle of the headlight controls on an rs car?
I mean on the center black part of the picture if anyone doesn't know what i'm talking about

the switch is basically a dummy, all it does is send resistance to the BCM and the computer software makes the decision on what it is supposed to do, since the BCM on an RS car is not programmed for the fog light button, a simple swap will not do anything..

now with that said;

Ofer (2SSRS) is working on this for me, he has successfully been able to get the signal from the fog light switch to a set of relays and is building a circuit for me to accomplish this (I want a separate fog light switch as I have rewired my DRL's into another bulb and location).

So hang tight for a bit, hopefully he will have it up on his site www.gen5diy.com in a month or so.

thanks for the reply but i meant to leave the controls as it is but somehow take out the middle portion and put in a switch instead of drilling a hole in the center console and putting it there?

I understand, what I am saying is that non-RS cars have an OEM fog light switch in the center (you push the center to activate the fogs).

so you can use the non-RS OEM switch to accomplish your task without damaging the RS OEM switch or your dash..

as far as your question, there is a circuit board behind that blank, on Non-RS cars there is a switch on the board, on RS cars the board is still there but the electronic 'trace' is blank.
