There's only 2 sets in the country right now. Unobtanium at the moment.

Just a quick question about the Koni yellows. What will the plan be for adjusting the rear shocks? Will there be a knob on top like the BC coilovers? I really hate the idea of drilling holes in the trunk...

Well, Koni Yellows are one of the entry level recommendations, so they are not gold anyway. I also don't really understand how come it took so long for them that gen 5 itself has been replaced by gen 6 by the time they were able to come up with these shocks.

Dunno why it takes them so long, but it took them damn near a whole year to fix the weld between the endlink bracket and the strut body on the S197 Mustang yellows so it wouldn't crack there any more.
They may have been trying to do something about allowable bump stroke so that lowered cars on softish springs don't end up breaking stuff inside (another S197 issue, and I think we all know that lowering just for the sake of lowering isn't just confined to cars with blue oval badging). Like you say, they seem to be pretty decent as entry-level single-adjustable dampers, though I think I'd want something else for spring rates much more than about double the OE stiffnesses. Bilstein isn't any better, if my experience there with a small run of specially calibrated shocks and struts that happen to fit my wife's Legacy means anything. I think the wait there was over a year, and I think it was a matter of small runs having low priority. Perhaps that's the way the Euro shock mfrs see the ponycar market in general??? Norm

Finally talked to my Koni Rep on the phone - they are waiting on Bushings for the Yellows so they are not ready yet - but should be very soon

The long delay of the Yellows is that it is a different design from the Oranges - different stampings, different valving, etc. They want this done as much as you want them as they need to get to the 6th Gen as soon as they can. |

Hopefully they fixed the issue with the oranges spring perch being too close to the tire. 275/40R20s up front on 20x9s don't work with Koni Oranges.
They didn't give a damn when I told them about the problem so I was left spending more money on wheel studs and a spacer to keep them from rubbing excessively. I would certainly be a bit leery about going with Yellows also.
