My New ADM Painted RJT High Flow Intake *Updated w/ Pics of Race Scoop Installation*

Wow! This intake is really well put together! Everything fit well, w/ no issues. Of course this isn`t my first rodeo on doing performance mods, but any shade tree would have no problems installing it. It was raining like crazy all weekend so even though I`ve got the race intake, I did not put the scoop on yet, no room in the garage to jack the car up and take the fender liner off, I had no problem getting the washer bottle out from the top, but I can see where it would be much easier from the bottom w/ the liner out. I definetly recomend removing the MAF clip so you can reroute the MAF wires behind the PS pump, do that and you have more than enough wire. Now to put the scoop in and change the thermostat and reroute the heater hoses off the top of the engine.

I had a local bodyshop paint the intake for me as well as my engine cover. It really finishes the car off in my opinion. I also added silver met decals to the cover letters from ebay.

Now I need a tune! I have catted ARH`s longtubes and the ADM, and she needs a tune badly. Most people probably wouldn`t notice but I can tell the engine PCM is overcompensating for the intake AND longtubes and adding way more fuel than it needs. Plan is next week or 2 go get the tune and hit the track, I`m part of a track rental 11/13, 6 hours of side by side racing!

Andy! Thanks for a great product and taking the time to call me back even after hours a week and a half ago. Your Customer Service is 2nd to none!!!

Looks great! I also have RJT and love it. Not an ADM though, a Roto-Fab. I didn't know ADM was painting theirs, or did you have it done by a painter?

Very nice looking package with the intake, 4 inch tube, and engine cover matched up. Question, are you going to use the factory heater hoses when you reroute them or are you buying new hose to do it? Lastly, do you know what size the hoses are as one appears slightly larger than the other?

Inferno,

I was planning on going, but the wife recently reminded me we have a...prior engagement...:(

SSMike,
It was painted by a local bodyshop, it was my hope to show others how nice Andy`s intake would look w/ paint. The Function and Aesthetics of this piece are second to none.
to quote someone in another thread, powdercoat makes a great primer..

Black10,
I do plan to paint the battery terminal cover at some point, also thinking about the fuse box cover.

Sack Rat,

I went to the magnasun supercharger homepage and downloaded the pdf instructions for our SS, I thought to check there because I thought those hoses have to go somewhere when you put that blower on the car. Sure enough..It tells you to use 5/8 heater hose, even tells you the length. Both hoses are 5/8. They use one hose thats not cut from firewall to engine. I plan on using 2 90 brass elbows at the firewall to route the houses down and under the ABS module perch, after the perch, 2 more brass 90`s to turn them back towards the water inlets on the thermostat housing. That will keep them clean and running down the frame rail. Hope that helps.

Andy,

You have been great, and thanks for building such a great intake.

Crowley & JFerrell,

Thanks!

That looks amazing. I remember when you were asking about painting over the PC and I had a thought in my head. WOW, it looks way better than I had pictured.

Thanks you guys!

Pat,
I think the race version of this intake will be the best looking intake painted IMHO, no disrespect to the other companies but the design and look as well as material and powdercoating lend itself very well to paint. The carbon fiber emblem Andy added makes it really stand out that much more. Something for those looking to add a little bling w/ their go fast parts to consider when buying an intake.
