Springtime in North Carolina

Don't you just love Spring?

The aroma of honeysuckles fills the air, the flowers blooming in all their glory, the warm sun against a light breeze.

But amidst all this wonder of nature lies the antichrist of detailing enthusiasts everywhere...............POLLEN!!!!!

He floats harmlessly through the air until coming into contact with your pride and joy, then mercilessly attaches himself, seeking to destroy your wax and dull your shine.

As he stages his war, you must not fear, gather your weapons and prepare for battle against the varmints!

With foamgun in hand I apply a relentless amount of lubricity to all who dare to cling, sending them to their death in a drowning pool.

But make no mistake, they are as I speak replenishing their ranks, undeterred by my obliteration of their initial attack.

North Carolina... I'll never leave her for any place else. We have it all...Great beaches, Beautiful mountains, many large lakes and great weather. Not too hot..not too cold.
Just starting to see the pollen increase here in East Wake County.
Thankfully I don't have any allergy problems.

On a more serious note, (just thought I'd have some fun with the pollen instead of getting irritated by it) I had recently read an article about pollen.

The "old way" I used to do it was to go to a pay and spray, and just rinse the car off with the "spot free rinse", which is filtered water, that minimizes spotting, unlike hard water which is common from your spigot at home. Then just drive it home and allow it to dry on the way back.

This will remove most of the pollen, but water (any type) actually activates acid contained within pollen, and is damaging to your wax and clearcoat. Here's the article.

Nice job! My usual method of attack with pollen is a rinseless wash, but I do love me some foam gun/cannon action. Almost makes breaking out the buckets and grit guards worth it

those spores are in the area, can't see them my my sinuses are going crazy, just a matter of time til I start seeing the yellow hue of pollen here in northern WV :( got fresh sealant and wax on her, and a new pressure washer and attachments to make the pollen season a little less stressful. lots of foam/rinse/dry rounds coming up

Looking good.

I certainly don't miss that. I've been paranoid to take it out of the garage lately. Just did a detail myself a few weeks back.

The weather has been incredible though.
