Question about these V6s versus the V6s from the 80s
Ok, why is it that the LLT/LFX V6s r suppose to be so advanced but we cannot get them to produce over 500RWHP consistently, but yet if u look at some of the mid to late 80s Buick Grand National V6s that are not nearly as advanced as our engines, some are putting out around or over 1000 RWHP at the strip! What are they doing so different to their engines that we are not doing to ours?

they are purpose built for boost.
Buick underrated the GNX at 276 hp (206 kW) and a very substantial 360 lb·ft (488 N·m) of torque they certainly didn't come with 1000 hp from the factory.

well being turbo from the factory makes it alot cheaper and easier to mod for hp, that and the 20+ years since they were built, alot of parts has came out. the LLT has only been out since like '08. but even then in the US it wasnt in a sportier car like the camaro, so the aftermarket didnt pick up on it alot till it was put in our Camaro's. Look at the Grand Prix 3.8L supercharged GTP model they can get those up to insane numbers aswell. Who knows in years to come what will be available. That and isnt the direct injection fuel pump an issue as well? its not like other fuel injected cars were its easy and readily available for a fuel pump upgrade.

We will see more after-market parts with the new LT1 coming out.

you can run the 3.8 engine in those to 20psi boost without replacing anything on the bottom end of the engine...try that with our aluminum block LLT & see what happens
