Is tip tronic possibile for the l99?

So im not really the biggest fan of the paddle shifters... id much rather have something like this http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...0&tx=89&ty=107 ....

I hate how you cant press the paddle shifters while turning (or its very very awkward if you do) ... (yes you shudlnt need to shift when turning, but what about very long and gradual turns?) and the fact that I cant have my left hand at 12 o clock and right on the shifter... yea yea i should have got a M6 to late now... but honestly i dont really care for the manual... I just want some kinda of tip tronic like I used to drive ... is there anyway to make this happen on an L99?

I too have been wanting this but I do remember some discussion a while back that it would be pretty difficult to make happen due to shifting linkage etc..

I still have faith that someone will make it happen...

PS, get your flame suit on for someone mentioning the whole "shifting while turning" etc.. lol

lol i dont care... some turns I make are like 5 seconds long since its so damn wide where im just holding the wheel... if im using hte paddle shifters, it becomes very awkward sometimes ... id rather have a tip tronic in my right hand and the wheel in my left since im fine with having an auto... just dont like the paddles

btw tho... the paddles make me think of fisher price every time i hear them click.... just sounds like a toy

The shifter itself (not the handle) does not support a dual gate shifter. It could possiblely be done but would require more than just a shifter handle replacement

Why everyone keeps saying you don't shift while turning is beyond me. Hop in your car and drive ,the car ,when shifting automatically, shifts when rpm and speed require it, be it it in a corner or not. To hang on to a gear because your in a corner doesn't make sense.

Taking these cars through the corners while both up-shifting and down- shifting makes all the difference in performance. With the buttons on the shifter not the wheel it makes all the difference and IMHO is much better than a dual gate shifter.

Well in a spirited or racing application, you don't want to shift in the corners, as it upsets the suspension and can cause loss of traction, which can be catastrophic.

I do believe I remember seeing a company that makes a replacement shifter knob with buttons for shifting. I think that's the best you're gonna do.

I am the manufacturer of those shifters.

During NORMAL driving there are many times when shifting in corners is necessary. In spirited driving downshifting and upshifting IN and OUT of corners is normal practice, the problems associated with shifting in corners is also reduced somewhat with an automatic.
