So the ZL1 beat an AWD, 670hp Lambo? Either that MR is absolutely the best suspension available, or the ZL1 has more hp than they're saying. Wouldn't it be cool if the ZL1 had a "hot key" like the Boss, and this run was done using that "hot key" that produces 600+ hp?

One can dream.

I think there are those at GM that know this, but whether those are the same people that will actually establish the price is another matter altogether. Even at $60K, I think it's a fairly good value. At close to $50K would be an OUTSTANDING value

That's the number I've had in my head for a very long time. MSRP of about $55k, out the door at $60k. It might be a few thousand difference in either direction, but those calling a $60k plus MSRP are not thinking clearly IMO. It reminds me of those that were predicting the SS coupe price point in the $40-45k range prior to release.

As amazing as this car is, it will not be priced out of it's direct competition and demographic.

I think Lambos' are more for the eyes than they are for the speed-freaks. I know there are some great cars out there (R8), but nearly every Ferrari that I see looks and seems to perform like performance was the goal, not just to defeat radar, lol. I LOVE Lambos', but I just don't take them as serious as a speed machine. I'll never own one, but I definately like how they've looked the last several years.

I want to learn more about the new MR, too. I haven't got a chance to really dive into the Gen II MR, but I'm sure we're going to be educated by GM very soon on Gen III.

As far as the power - you remember the '10 LLT and '11 LLT power numbers, yes?... LOL. Though I know I've seen power numbers published by GM, and even recall a certification statement, I haven't seen an SAE statement by them yet. Maybe that's still going to be officially annouced, too. I guess we'll see

That may be the trick. They said official, not SAE.

I swear they said certified, but didn't specify. That leaves the door open to me...

They must be putting a lot of that 580 to the wheels.
580 RWHP would be fine....

I hope so. Just make the msrp realistic. I can weed out the mark-up bs with my persistence. Even some gt500 dealers were asking mark-ups (I was laughing hysterically to myself when a friend told me what he paid over msrp).
