What is this Button on the Back of the Steering wheel - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Am I just losing my mind, or does this look like a button of some sort.

I dont see a paddle either, could this be the shifting button?

ALSO DO YOU GUYS SEE WHAT I SEE!!!!!

Thats what I was thinking too, although its more of a button shifter than a paddle shifter...hahaha

Yes that is the manual shift activator.. BMW, Mercs, and other luxury sedans/cars have ones like these..

There is one on each side, one is upshift, the other downshift.

Oh wow so they are more buttons huh? Not like the auto & paddle shifters on the Corvette, or the Grand Prix GXP?

Wonderful. The placement of the paddles on the Vette and Malibu didn't work well for me. It was just bad ergonomic positioning. I can't tell for sure, but this set-up looks much better. Good job GM! Thanks for the improvement.

I just wish they were actually paddles that sat up higher on the wheel. More at the "10 and 2" spot. But still looks good. Not going to stop me from getting the auto...that and the fact that I have never driven a stick
