2010 Camaro Aux

I don't know if I'm doin something wrong or if it's just part of the 2010 Camaro line but when you plug in your iPhone/iPod to the Aux cord, hit Aux on the radio, is there any way to switch songs using Seek or other features like that?

It's getting distracting when I have to keep switching songs by manually unlocking my phone while im driving.

What type of jack do you have? It depends on which steroe you have. I believe if your jack is a USB (computer) jack, then yes you can. If your jack is the earphone type pug (small round hole) then no. My 1SS has the round jack and I cant control the IPod from the stereo. I, also, don't have blue tooth.

The LS trim level does not have the convenience and connectivity package available.

Short answer, no.

Like Justin said-- nope. You need to upgrade to the PDIM to be able to use your radio controls with your iPod/Phone. It's not too expensive; I did it.

But I will chime in and say while it's decent, it's still not best menu system I've used. Personally if I didn't have it already and really wanted the USB with radio controls I would consider putting the $ towards an aftermarket unit.

Well, the PDIM works really well with Apple products (if they're on the list of compatible models ) but if you're looking to plug in a 64GB thumb drive with more than 2,500 songs on it, then yeah, aftermarket would be a better option.

The PDIM is limited to 2,500 songs that it can internally index and recognize. However, if an Apple product is used, then you can have as many songs on it as you want because Apple products do their own indexing.

All the aux input does, is allow sound from an external device (your iPhone, iPod, etc.) to be heard through your car audio system.
There is no provision for controlling any external device.

That's not totally accurate. If you can plug it in(granted it should be on the compatibility list, iPod or whatever) to the USB then you can control it through the radio aux. Granted, control is limited to <> you can ff or rew through songs if you press and hold and you can skip to the previous or next song. The radio indexes the device from time to time but then you can use it.

The earphone jack can be used from the iPod or whatever but it only plays through the aux. mode, can't be controlled. You control it through the device.
