I think there are more worthwhile uses for most people's money. Also if you have headers, you will have to cut them up some anyway.

You're going to find that the SS/1LE engine compartment will be smoking hot after you get done with a run. I typically do 20 minute HPDE runs and there's no where to exhaust that heat except down. Putting on a belly pan with no heat extraction on the hood would be a bad idea. Next time you're under the hood take a good look at how well it's sealed all the way around.

hmmmmmm, I didn't think it was the sealed off that well, I have a cowl hood that is open in the back so I don't think it will be a problem.

The zl1 ducting and belly pan are made to work with some hood ventilation. Check ACS' TL1 (zl1 replica) hood insert or hex vents. If you are going all in on the aero front try a zl1 front end with the ducts as well. It was designed to all work together...not sure if any one piece of the front aero stuff works any good by itself.

yea screw that. + I hardly spend any time over 130 MPH and I was looking for fuel efficiency when I bought my daily driver 4CYL Malibu...not my SS Camaro!

The belly pan is 22765382.
You'll also need 14 bolts p/n 11610055.
11 nut/clip 11570215.

I'll be installing mine this weekend. My understanding is you'll need to drill holes in the subframe for attaching the clips to bolt the pan on.

As for the belly pan being beneficial at high speeds, my buddy has a report done on testing with a Corvette for a belly pan and heat extracting hood. I'll get the details when I see him this weekend, but what he read to me was the test was done in a wind tunnel at 100MPH.

Test 1: stock Corvette, baseline
Test 2: belly pan attached, noticeable down force measured.
Test 3: belly pan and special hood, increase in down force over just belly pan.

Could you send me that info if you have a chance? Thanks for posting the pn for the bolts and clips, using car for road course use. Have zl1 front, my own hood vents, and belly pan to install

Sorry made a typo for the PN on the nut/clip. I corrected it in my post above. The other clip is for the side panels on the console.

Yes when I see him I'll get the info and post the specifics.

Fixed. See my post.

Before anyone goes and orders this stuff, let me get mine installed on Saturday and I'll report back on the quantity of parts used on the SS. Unless someone who has already installed wants to chime in. Seeing how I got the info from the parts illustration from the ZL1 there may be some customizing that needs to be done.
