Failed supercharger

Well ladies and gentlemen, I have had my car less than a month, have put less than 400 miles on it (total of 6,700 miles on the car) and the supercharger failed. Luckily the dealership is replacing it under warranty.

It had the rattle. I believe this means that the bearings were wearing out

They all rattled. Is was probably doing it already when you bought it. That is not failure. Just annoying. Now if the bearings start to squeal then that's bad. Just let them put the new design on and you'll be fine

Solid coupler instead of the spring coupler that rattles.

I just bought my 2013 last week 9000 miles on it. A friend was checking out and noticed the rattle. Chevy dealer told me the warranty was extended to 10 years 120,000 miles on the ZL1 and the Cadillac version. They are taking care of it. Just waiting for parts to come in. I'm only concerned about the guy who is going to test drive it after..lol

Tell me more about the warranty being extended to 10 year 120,000? Just for supercharger or just for the isolator or?

For the supercharger. For some reason, they replace the entire supercharger rather than the isolator/coupler.

I had my supercharger replaced a few weeks ago too. The new supercharger is rattling as bad as the old one. I was told to drive the car. Not sure why the entire unit is replaced when in most cases only the isolator is the cause of the rattle. I will eventually be going back to get the issue addressed and hopefully fix. In any case, there is a long warranty on the supercharger.
