Thanks guys, I wanted to decrease unsprung, rotational weight and increase contact patch, without being limited in tire choices (19") or having too much sidewall, or having to flash the ECU for a speedo adjustment (18"). I like going fast too much to go with a taller wheel than what came on the car. I'm told this combo is great for track and strip, and really helps eliminate understeer in the front while really hooking up in the back. Still not as fast as a bike though, and the guys at the local BMW dealership let me ride a new K1600GT, and I kinda lost all interest in having a fast car as a daily driver.

Yeah, I had priced 275 fronts, 315 rears. They were in the same price range as the Pirellis in 245/275. I did tons of homework on wheels and tires, looking at weights, widths, offsets, diameter, tire options if you don't like a given compound/manufacturer, I spent weeks looking before I pulled the trigger on these, making sure that they're THE RIGHT wheels for looks as much as performance.
Then, a couple months after placing the order, I took my bike in for servicing and saw for the same money I was going to spend on finding a wrecked LS3 'Vette engine and building a 416 stroker with a Whipple on top, I could have an S1000RR, tuned, geared to 200+ miles an hour and still have a warranty for it and have more fun with it on dates. Sold the Camaro for a frugal hatchback that my Great Dane is much happier with and I'm on a diet to fit back into my racing leathers. Funny how life works lol. |
