I don't think there's a faster car for the same or less amount of money. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure.

i thought the hp/weight was -10lbs = 1hp . . am i wrong here?

so the 600 lbs less would be 60hp. . . 392hp with not a lot of tq. at all.

The LS3 Camaro has 430hp 424tq, the z has 332hp and 270tq, the Camaro has 98hp and 154tq more than the z.

The Camaro weighs 3900 and the z weighs 3300. Torque is the name of the game, its the amount of twisting force that is applied to the rear axle. Hp is a measurement of energy being created, not actual twisting force.

Camaro - 3,900 pounds
.110 hp per pound of weight.
.108 ftlbs of tq per pound of weight.

370Z - 3,300 pounds
.106 hp per pound of weight.
.081 ftlbs of tq per pound of weight.

You can clearly see that the Camaro will easily kick the little z's ass, this is not a "drivers race".

idk what to say. I want the Camaro to win and I believe that it will but it will also be close. Motortrend got a 4.7 0-60 out of it and that's pretty close to what we're all expecting out of the Camaro.

Power to weight ratio is nice and all but look at the numbers produced by a car that is VERY similar to the Camaro SS (same engine, clutch, etc), just a bit heavier. It performs the 0-60 in the SAME time as the 370z.

I'd like to know who of you can do a perfect launch EVERY time. If you don't do it exactly right and shift at the perfect moment in the quickest manner possible but the driver of the 370z does, they'll make up that few tenths difference and take the title from you.

Look at the performance predictions thread and compare those numbers to the 370z.
