Installed Console Gauges on my 1 SS!!

So i finally got my 4 gauge cluster for my console and installed it today. Looks exactly like the stock 2SS gauges. The amazing part is it is plug and play. All I had to do was convert all the hardware to the new console cover and plug a wire in the harness under the center console. started it up and the gauges worked. i thought I would have to have the dealer flash it but guess not. Total cost from gmpartsdirect was 354.00

I would suggest getting this if you got the 1ss cause it was easy to install.

There was a pdf floating around of the instructions, that really has all of the pictures you need. If it isn't posted by Monday I'll try to do it when I'm at work.

Seeing this now gives me another idea of place to tap into for ambient lighting in the 1SS and 1LT and 1LS

Tony just for confirmation did you order part number 92247188 from gmpartsdirect.com. I have a 1SS manual and since they don't accept returns I wanted to make sure I ordered the right part. Also how long to it take to get the guages. I have an earlier build # 14606 than you I assume that isn't a factor. I did send gmpartsdirect an email to confirm the right part number but I thought I might find out faster from you. Thanks!

you have the right part number. it takes about 7 to 10 days for gmparts to get the part but it ships really fast. I paid 354 shipped. not bad since most want 395+ shipping. installing it is easy but they dont give any way to hold the gauges to the new console cover. i just used the 4 black ties and strapped it to the holes that it lines up with on the cover. you dont see it since its underneath.

It's been asked quite a lot on the ambient light threads, and since I used the factory plug to run the ambient light for my footwells in the stock holes, it leads me to believe there might be another plug in the console area.

Even at that, you could most likely tap into the one of the many instrument lighting signals. Such as the light for your new gauges, or I'm thinking of the traction control button.
