Has Anyone Gotten the Call From GM?

Has anyone gotten the phone call from GM to alert them that the output shaft in their six speed Camaro might be affected by Tremec's QC issue?
I've read about the reported failures, but have not heard of anyone being contacted by GM before a failure occurred.

How can this be? Is it possible that GM didn't call anyone?

You posted originally at 2pm and you got 3 responses, I don't think it's acceptable to even hint that your assuming GM hasn't/isn't calling anyone. For all we know if could of been 100 shafts maybe even 1000, that's only a few cars. Maybe it was more maybe less, GM said they would handle it and they will. The ones that have broken have gotten a replacment within 24 to 48 hours that's pretty good service.

Well, the original post in this thread wasn't the first to ask this question, so I believe it is a bit "unusual" that no one has reported any calls to date on here. I also think that a couple of shafts have been reported after the GM announcement. There is a lot of people on this forum; I would feel better if I heard that someone received a call.

I agree that GM has done an excellent job in addressing this issue quickly and completely. But I would personally like to know more about what exactly was the reason for the failures. From GM. I don't feel "entitled" to know, I would just feel better about the issue if we heard the root cause.

Perhaps they were asked by GM not to share their calls publicly. If i got on here and said my car with vin 20015 has a bad output shaft then everyone around my VIN would panic and everyone would post and it would be a mess. Please note That is not my VIN and I am just making an example., just expressing my opinion.

I posted on the 12th and again on the 16th. Check the dates.

I know that I would feel better knowing that GM was contacting affected Camaro owners as agreed, and if I was not contacted I could then assume that my car is not one of the affected vehicles. Even if the group of cars affected is as small as we suspect, I think we would still hear about some of the calls on this forum.

I agree Rick! Why let us worry about this problem?

My car got built and released right around when this was announced. It was held up for about a week or so, I am not sweating it. We get a 5 year 100,000 mile warrantee on the drivetrain, just enjoy it, if it breaks you lose the car for a couple of days.........no big deal.

And this forum is a small cross-section of owners compared to all the people that already placed orders.

There is not one single dealer with a decent service department in Florida? What about the one in the Orlando area. I stopped there once a while back. That big beautiful dealship has no good mechanics??

So what are you going to do with other warrantee repairs? Man, I would not buy a car if I could not find a dealer with a decent service department.......scary.
