I dont think you thought this one all the way through.......
plus the time it takes to install all of that stuff... looks like 100's of hours of install and troubleshooting time... and the headaches

let GM engineer the car... the guys at the mom and pop shop wont even come close.

What's all that bad about them stock? Yeah they can be upgraded, but so can anything else... why are the Brembos on the SS all that bad? I'm not understanding your logic at all?

And why not just get a 1SS and throw a SC on it? All together, it would end up costing about the same in the end (not counting brakes, wheels, and suspension upgrades).... wouldn't it?

I'm not trying to be synical or anything, I'm just trying to figure your ideas, and logic out...

This is 37.5K

How much is that Suspension and brakes going to cost?

Now What if the V6's aisin 6spd can't handle the power? (It's a good tranny just the 556hp LSA might be asking a bit much of it)

Also, you will have to upgrade the Tires and wheels to house the breaks.(There isn't alot of room with those 18 inch rims)

By the time you are done, you are going to end up paying alot more then what just the SS would of provided with a simple upgrade from there. Hell look at it like this, Why not Buy a 1SS, get an LSA Crate engine, and then Sell the LS3 out of the SS?

I dont think you see the benefits of his plan correctly

he deems the brakes, suspension, engine on the SS to not be sufficient. instead of getting a 1SS and replacing the brakes and suspension and getting a super charger he would be buying a LS and replacing all of the parts on the LS with the same upgraded parts he would have put on the 1SS. that would save him a ton of money. and in the end since the LSA is built for forced induction it would be more reliable to replace the supercharger on that than it would be to just slap a supercharger on the LS3.
something else he needs to take into consideration though is needing new wheels and tires.

well...a least i hope that was his thought process in coming up with the idea

Thank you. Finally, someone explains the logic. Now it finally makes some sense to me. Thanks lil_chef

Although LSA and LLT have one letter in common, they are not the same.....

LSA doesnt have forged internals. it would be very similar to just slapping a s/c onto an LS3.

its gonna cost a lot more than you are looking at to out run and out corner a ZR1. even a 90's ZR1.

the LSA pumping out ~550hp, LS9 pumping out ~650hp. ZR1 weighs how much less than the Camaro?

more power + Less weight > Less power + more weight.

why not buy a body in white and then just add whatever you want to it?

strip the car down to absolutely nothing. scrape out the foam inside the frame tubing and pull every single thing that doesnt make the car go faster off, throw in a TT LSX 454 and trans to match and you might be able to keep up with a ZR1 on the straight away for a period of time, but unless someone gives you the motor and trans, you wont be able to out perform a ZR1 for half the cost of one.
