He would just tell us to take it to the dealer, where they would just show us the bulletin. That's where the frustration stems from. The passing of the buck. No solutions for an unhappy customer. Successful businesses acknowledge that the customer is right, go figure. I'm done here, this sh** is making me sick! PS you can have all my points!

There, you answered your own question. If I was GM PR I would have said... "I'm sorry to hear about your issue, you should take it to your dealer so they can determine what might be the matter. Anyway, whats your favorite thing about your 2013 Ashen Gray Metallic Camaro ZL1?"

LOL. It is not an issue but a feature. How will you know it is working if you can't hear it? <jk>

Since we are left with dealing with noise, would it be possible to insulate the snout with some kind of heat resistant sound deadening material? The snout is sealed so air temps should not be adversely affected and the snout it is mostly covered by the shroud, so I'm thinking it may not be a huge eye sore when you pop the hood.
(Edit) Ah crap. The snout is all one piece where the shaft runs and where the throttle body mounts. So intake air temps may be slightly raised by insulating the snout with sound udeadening material. Plus the coupler actually sits inside the lower plenum. You'd have to wrap the whole damn thing.

I PM'ed Brandon (Chevy Custy Srvice)
But you're right, he's suspiciously a no show here. The gist of his message was Chevy would deal with this on a case by case basis with each affected owner.
Why respond if you dont have to; separately we're not as strong as we are collectively. Normally he responds pretty quickly. I sent him an email when this thread was less than 1 page long; it's being conveniently ignored.

Hmmm now its my turn to say I'm joking....if you catch my meaning; if you get my drift.... Kinda like you didn't think I was serous, as I just went looking fo a picture that said" that went over me, and I though his picture was perfect given his dubious disbtinction of claiming to have invented the internet.... The internet was really invented by the folks that gave us TCPIP and ARPANET, not AL Bore (ing).

1. I have been waiting (1100) for my 2013 6 speed vert since 7/31/12. 2. I like the ZL1 Camaro automobile (looks, 580 HP) 3. I think the design, functioning, noise of the spring coupler is fu**ed up. 4. I think GM's poor customer service response/attitude is fu**ed up. 5. I will probably never buy another Chevy auto based on 1-4 above. 6. Appears to be no viable solution to this spring/grooving/noise issue imho. I'm done here too. |
