Everything I guess when its that old, parts should not be a problem.I guess the most important to look at is the engine and transmission and everything else is cosmetic.

Check lower panels (rockers, wheel wells, radiator support, ect) for rust. Might help to actually touch them too. I was looking a an old Datsun 510 once. The door sill paint looked a little strange. I tapped on it and my finger went right through the metal and I could see the ground under the car. I was like "Oh, hellz no!"

Most people prefer the 2nd gen chargers from 68-70. The 3rd gen styling is not well liked in the Mopar world. 71 would also be last year for the Hemi and 440+6 option.

Rust can be a killer of these cars. Check the torque boxes (where the leaf springs mount), the shock towers up front, the rockers, floors, trunk and the rear window surround. If it has a vinyl roof, look at it carefully. They hide rust pretty well and that is not fun to replace. Make sure the headlight motors work and that they are all there. Those parts can be tough to replace (read: expensive). Lastly: try to find the best example of the breed that you can afford. Restoration costs are really high unless you are talented. Good Luck. With all classic cars, make sure you find a source for spares BEFORE you buy the car. Orphan cars SUCK. (I have one!)
