87 is perfectly fine for normal driving and such, even performance, but to reap the most benefit you want 93 octane.

well since day one i have only put mid grade from cheveron in my v-6. all i know is i will only use cheveron. for some reason i believe that if you use one kind of gas and for some reason change it your car lets you know that it knows you have change the gas your useing. with that being said im no expert but when i changed something i noticed a diferance. so i will always use cheveron mid grade. my car runs very nice on it and im happy.

2. St. Paul Automotive Mustang Dyno 264 HP 222 TQ preimum gas 92 octane

The person then identified himself as an engineer from GM Performance Division and the results are exactly what we should expect from the 217 CI 3.6L V6. He then stated with 100 octane gas the engine can produce ~300 HP at the rear wheels or 371-375 HP at the driveshaft. WOW! Why buy a V8?

On the Hot Rod Power Tour I achived 24.79 MPG over 2868 miles driven. The high 29.6 MPG and the low 19.1 MPG. That was stop and go in towns, 55-85 MPH running on the highway, back country roads and 3 bursts to 125 MPH with a lot left to go. The figure also includes a one day 1272 mile, 19 hour 30 minute ride home. Holly crap thats 65.23 MPH average speed. A new personal best.
So if you are thinking of buying a new Camaro definetily consider the V6 engine.

Can anyone else notice the Torque limiter again, Dude this sucks

You sold me on 93 octane!

I think 15 vs. 2.2 retard is no small difference. When I raced Stangs back in the day, a 10 degree advance in timing on the old pushrod 5.0's was worth 1/10 at the drag strip (about 10 hp).

For me, 93 octane is worth it to keep the engine from retarding the timing that much.

I wouldn't get to wrapped up in the claims of specific brands of gas, I've never seen anything that lead me to believe anyone is offering something significantly better than the others. Octane, however, will make a difference. Your not going to be running with the SS but you will squeeze some extra power out with the good stuff.

I drove a 72 mile round trip first with 87 oct and got 27 mpg, 3 or 4 weeks later I drove the same route with 91 oct and got 28 mpg.
I really did'nt notice much difference in performance (maybe a little more responsive) with 91 oct.

Once again people, what's highlighted above is what's important.

USE 93 OCTANE IF YOU DON'T WANT SPARK RETARD!

He prob pumped you 100LL (the Blue Stuff). Thats AVGAS made for piston aviation engines. It's around 100 octane.

JP4 is millitary's version of Jet-A which is purified lamp oil. Kerosene. This will run diesel's ok but wouldnt do to good in gasoline engines.

Still beating the dead horse.... LOL

Sorry, but there is no way that can be true...otherwise we'd all be getting race gas and a trifecta tune!
