Drag Star Wheels
Just FYI....there could be another, more affordable option coming for light-weight drag wheels. I called Race Star Industries earlier today and asked about the compatibility of their Drag Star (92 series) wheels with the 5th Gen Camaro SS. I was told that the 17x4.5 will fit (w/o the roller skates), and that their engineers are currently working on a design to get their 17x9.5's to fit in the rear. Hopefully, they just come out with a redesigned 17x10 or even wider (I hope). They said they are hoping to have a solution for the rear fitment within 3 to 4 weeks....(we'll see). Anyway, with their "Uni-Lug" bolt pattern fitment, they said the 5x4.75 will fit our 5x120 bolt pattern without any problems (hub centric rings are recommended though). I was also told they are considering making some 18" sizes too. And that they will have 20x7.5" and 20x10.0 available very soon. I know some people may have a negative opinion of these wheels because they supposedly start life as a Chinese Casting, but in my opinion, they are light-weight, functional, and very affordable.....(and I think they look really good too, especially the "Dark Star" coming out soon). Hopefully, these will be a much more affordable alternative to all the problems with the Weld RT-S wheels. Take a look.... Whattaya think?

I have Greg Weld(same wheel) 15s on my 3rd gen. They have been good. I had them painted black. They don't feel as light as another set of weld wheels I have (convo pro).

Yeah, since they are admittedly a "cast" wheel, I'm sure there are some lighter options out there, but these are still not bad. I was told that their 17x9.5 weighs in right at 20.0 lbs, and the 17x4.5 is about 14.0 lbs.

4.75" x 5 is NOT the same as 120mm x 5. Yes, it is only 25.5 thousandths of an inch difference but that is a lot when it comes to error tolerances, especially on something as critical as bolting on wheels.
I thought I would try it myself and tied mounting a 4.75"x5 bolt pattern on a 4x120 hub and it was WAY off.

Didn't notice that "uni-lug" thing. Definitely interesting. I'm curious to see close up pics of the lug area and these offset washers.

recd this email back...We actually have a set of 17x9.5” race star wheels in stock. However, they are already pre-mounted with a 275-40-17 Mickey Thompson Drag Radial. Brand new!!! Never been mounted onto a car. We had the tires mounted b/c word had it that those tires were close to being on backorder..they will fit the 2010 camaro

I was thinking with a 9.5" wheel, I would probably run the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial II (295/45R17) or the M&H RaceMaster (275/50R17). The M/T is supposedly 27.2" dia. and the M&H is 28.0" dia. It's too bad they don't have at least a 10.0" wide wheel.

We had the tires mounted b/c word had it that those tires were close to being on backorder. So we got a set and put them on. We also have a set of 17x4.5” fronts with no tires mounted. They’ll work with the 2010 Camaro. However, make sure it’s not a 2010 ½ year camaro b/c half way through the year, they began putting the 2012 brakes on the rear and they are bigger and require an 18” rear rim.
