Here we go... This is exactly why I dont normaly post on these threads because some people just have to toss out the myth card. If it is a myth, then why did it work for me the last three times my keys got locked in at the car wash? Believe what you want..this is just not worth arguing over I was just trying to help. I personally dont care and obviously dont have time to explain radio wave propagation to the non believers.

J-GUIDOSS if you try it or not, thats totally up to you, either way I hope you get your car unlocked without having to spend $$ on a locksmith or having to leave your car where it is to go get your key. Good luck!

What u do is get yourself a AAA membership about 50$ a year for roadside assistance includes tow's tire changes, fuel, and door unlocks and they also give u a plastic key to keep in your wallet to open the door but does not start it

I did this leavingbwork. Taking my coveralls and what not off and throwing them in the trunk. Key went in too. Fortunately I had unlocked the car first, so all I had to do was push the button. But it was a close enough call to activate my onstar, and will leave it active. (Was plannong on doing it anyway just hadnt gotten around to it.)

I tried to call OnStar and explained to them my situation but they could not help because I did not have the service. My only option was to call Chevrolet and they sent out a locksmith for free(Roadside Service). I stood there and watched him do it and he was careful not to scratch or damage my car.
I called GM road service..didn't help. He couldn't get access through the window. Is GM the same as the chevrolet dealership service?

This situation is exactly why I keep a spare key or the fob on a separate ring from the main key, and make sure that they all are in the pockets of the pants I'm wearing. Nothing wrong with a low-tech solution that costs you maybe a couple of bucks, once per car.

I made it a habit a long time ago to put my key back in my pocket before opening the trunk after unlocking it.
I haven't locked a key in any of my cars since the 80's.

Does your insurance offer road side?? Or pay for locksmiths?
