urgent got locked out!! help please - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hey guys gotI locked out today. I was distracted as I was running late for work..I left my keys inside the trunk. My spare key is 200 miles away.
I called GM road assistance but they weren't able to break in due to the Camaro window being too tight.

Dont wanna call locksmith yet as it will too expensive..
Also the GM guy said I can get a temporary key from the dealership?
Tried to activate my OnStar as well but I need to have access to the button inside the car.

sny tips or suggestion would be much appreciated :/

Do you have the Onstar app?

That happe to me once before but my onstar was activated. They opened the door fast once I confirmed I was the owner. Try looking up the onstar customer service # online and see if they set up an account and open it. Good luck hope this helps!

You should just be able to call Onstar.

I called them. They refused to help. They said I need to have access to the OnStar button in order to reactivate it :/

Guys he did call onstar, to activate it you have to push the blue onstar button inside the car so it can connect the first time to be set up. Otherwise anyone could call onstar and say to unlock your car.

The dealer should be able to use the VIN number to cut you a new key.

Your screwed.....your going to have to pry the window open enough to punch the lock button or pull the door handle....that's what the locksmith is going to do...using wedges between glass and jam....on star isn't going to help you if you don't already have their service....like you said...without pushing the on star button....and it's inside...locked up like your key

u dnt have the mylink app? if u hav an onstar subscription...all u hav to do is either call them r dwnld the app to ur phone...it can unlock ur doors

Man that sucks. I cant think of another other way. Had it been an older car id try metal clthes hangers and all! But not the Camaro. I guess your gonna have to bite the bullet on this bro. Keep us posted on how you get this opened up! Good luck!

I had to drive 100 miles rd trip for same thing......helped remember not to do that again.....need a hideakey....

never took the time to downloaded. Now my phone is rooted and I dont have an OnStar sub.
