Huh? So a 426 HP LS3 doesn't make sense to you but a more expensive still 8 cylinder engine does?

Yeah, didn't wanna explain the reasons as they tend to become arguments on this forum. Mostly about the price difference and power to weight issues.

[QUOTE=98_Camaro;790685]I'm kind of curious to see what some of you think. My dad said he'd buy a new Camaro when they start producing them with LS7's, and it got me thinking about whether or not Chevy would do that in the near or distant future.
So what do you think?

Definately not, the LS7 is being phased out. I'm sure that the next performance engine in the Camaro will be equipped with some sort of supercharger or Direct Injection...............Just my opinion

A big block camaro? I'm thinking a 596 CI big block pushing 700 HP bone stock.

Probably get like 12 city and 16 hwy with crappy gears.

I think it will be left up to the consumers. If you want an LS7 Camaro, do it yourself. I would personally pay about 50K-55K for an LS7 Camaro just like the concept.

I would personally like to see an LS7 with a wet sump - no titanium in the engine parts and a lower rev limiter to keep the costs down. 36k-37k starting price. Wishfull thinking right.

That price sounds right for what it would cost from Chevrolet, considering that it probably wouldn't be just an engine upgrade.

Alex, that is definately wishful thinking. Who knows, maybe the engineering to make it 'cheaper' works out to making it cost more.

But wouldn't it be neat to have one from the factory and let GM have the money and warranty it. A factory hotrod like the Z06. More than a few I think would buy it, I know I would. That kinda naturaly aspirated power with some supension would make a heck of a track car.

nahhhhh
no LS7.
all the reasons have already been explained as to why it wont make it

Frankly, I dont want to see a LS9 or LSA in a Camaro either. To be truthfu,l the LS3 is still a new engine so I think we will be "stuck with it for a while.
I say "stuck" with a hint of sarcasm because I think it is an amazing engine contrary to what some believe.
What I would want to see is a gen V motor in the Camaro in the future.
Skip through the LS9 and LSA and LS7

I'm definitely going to do it. I'm going to throw one inside my future LT/RS. Once I buy that, I'm going to look for a wrecked corvette to take it from. Unlikely, but wishful thinking is always good.

...that'll be a nice surprise for somebody who wants to try and take me on.

In all seriousness though, if I can't find one, I'll build one and drop it in. When that happens, I'll take pics and post them here.

Will Chevy ever put an LS7 inside a 5th-gen Camaro?

Well...It would seriously hinder passenger room and might scratch the leather, but it might finally find a noble purpose for the backseat!

Hahaha sorry I needed a good laugh for the day...

I would love to see the LS7 in the Camaro. It would be one hell of a car, but I don't think they will just because the government is getting so strict with MPG's nowadays. I just don't see it happening :(
Haha. I think if I was careful, I don't think I'd scratch the leather.
