Need help finding new 3" catback.

Hoping some out there could chime in on the best 3'' cat-back to run that has the least amount of drone at highway speeds 75-80mph.

I currently have the CNT racing 3'' cat-back and recently added Kooks LTs and high flow cats, although I love the sound under all other driving conditions, the drone that is present since the header install at 75-85mph in 6th is almost unbearable for any distance (50 miles+).

Anybody have any recommendations, would like to stick with a 3'' system with an x-pipe.

Thanks.

I've thought about the J-pipes, and depending on price that may be the way to go, I was just hoping to get opinions on drone-less exhaust first to keep the underside of the car as clutter free as possible. Thanks though.

The factory Z28 system is 2.75" and it is NPP, so you could switch off the drone when you wanted. Just a suggestion - pretty sure it isn't on the "block" list.

Now that's an idea, I wonder if the tips are bolted on or welded, I think I would like to stick with the single exhaust tip.

It's funny that, I'm running pretty much the same set up OBX long tubes (kooks clones) and the same car back and my drone is lower in speed by about 10 mph.

People say that the Stainless Works Retro Chambered Catback has no drone. Never heard it in person, though.

It doesn't have any drone.....until you add LT headers. Now it drones, but not as annoying as I thought it would be.

Downsized from a droning MBRP 3" X system (LS3), then resonated H flavor midsection (L99) to a Solo Mach XL J-pipe 2.5". No drone and no loss of real world performance. 60-100 in third still logged 3.6 sec in HPTuners scanner.

Stepped headers and 10+ psi boost. If I lost any power it isn't noticeable in the logged times and I can stand to drive it on the highway again. Some say it will choke off boosted applications with the 2.5" but I can't see it @ ~650 whp. Just keeps the exhaust velocity up.

I recently added the 3" Magnaflow, though LT headers ain't legal here / I don't have any. That said, I haven't noticed much drone and can easily have phone calls when cruising on the freeway. Overall I wouldn't describe the Magnaflow system as particularly loud inside or outside.

Man I wish mine was about 10mph lower, then I wouldn't worry about it since I usually seem to drive 55 or 75-80.

Thanks for all the replies, I still haven't settled on a system yet, but from the sounds of it I may have to step down to a 2.5'' exhaust.

Tune-able Solo 3" catback, or at least the J's.
