Special Bond Created with Camaro Due to Snow

Last night driving home in the snow north of Baltimore on back roads a special bond was created between me and my Camaro.

Looking back I do not know how I got it home. (For people in MD/PA area I took Falls Rd to Mt Carmel)

Pirelli P Zero tires, I did not know that a tire could be that bad in the snow. It was like driving slicks, but I made it and the bond was formed.

A few people on Cleveland Public Square gawked at the dumbass that took his Camaro out in a blinding snowstorm yesterday.

And I just kept on driving............

Congrats! It's no easy task getting around with these P-Zeros in any amount of snow.

I've lived in Colorado my entire life and never really understood what summer tires were until about a month ago. It took me several tries to get up my (slightly steep) driveway into the garage after it snowed/iced a few inches.

Been there done that with an IROC and 7 inches of snow, kissed the garage floor when I got home. Gotta have an alternate or just stay home. I see a number of posts about guys driving year round, 98% of the time you can but please let me pass when I come up in my avalanche behind you, I move over, I hope others do to.

I was out yesterday but with scorpions! They were pretty amazing!
This morning I couldn't get my 94 Z28 out of the driveway with all season tires on.

I had to drive up to Missouri to take my mom off life support the beginning of December, just after a massive Ice store hit north Texas, I was stuck on a sheet of ice on the interstate with the P-Zeros, car would just not move forward, however I found driving in reverse it drove just fine, luckily there was enough room behind me in the traffic jam I was in to back into the slow lane and off the ice.

When I got to Missouri the freezing rain was causing hell with my driving, multiple times I was suddenly sideways on the road. A normal 12 hour drive turned into an almost 20 hour drive due to the weather and the poor bad weather performance of those tires.

I got to learn the limitations of the Camaro with those tires during that trip, luckily I made it back with everything in tact and no damage done.

Glad I left mine in the garage yesterday. I left work yesterday at 4:30 and it took me over 3 hours to get home from Hershey Pa to York Pa, down route 83. Normally I make the daily drive in 45 to 50 minutes. I white knuckled it all the way home in a front wheel drive Nissan Sentra.

We drove a similar path, buddy. I work in Hunt Valley and live in Sparks. I was driving on the PZero's as well. I've been meaning to put my winter tires on since December and kept putting it off. Last night and this morning -- lesson learned. Driving through my neighborhood at a 30° angle for about a quarter mile (at 15 mph) was interesting. Certainly one of the slower drifts of all time .
