I have a 2012 2LT that came with the Boston Acoustics 9 speaker system I did not get the factory installed sub woofer and amp. If I get the SUB THUMP 2010-2012 Camaro Complete Drivers Side 12" Stealth Package what else will I need? How much wiring will I have to do? Will I have to get at the back of the stereo in the dash to do the install?

You will need a LOC (Line out Converter). You use it to tap in the rear deck speakers to send a signal to the amp.

So the only wiring beyond the trunk will be the power for the amp and the remote bass knob?

The battery is in the trunk. So the only thing you'll need to wire in the cabin is the bass knob. Gotta love this goofy car.

If you also buy the FARK kit from ******** you don't have to tap into the speaker wires. Only +, -, and REM for amp. Gain knob if you want it.

If you purchase the 5.1 kit, you will have everything you need for the install. This made a big difference in the sound with the stock radio. I am waiting on the Kenwood 9990 HD radio to install.

I plan to keep my stock BA system for a little while and add a sub. I already have a 12" sub and amplifier so I ordered the ******** 5G-X3 RCA and 5G-LDS.

That is the plug and play RCA T-Harness ($59) and Large Drivers Side Stealth Enclosure ($165).

It should be delivered this Friday and hopefully I'll have time to install it Saturday.

One more question. Like I said earlier I have the 9 speaker Boston Acoustic system but did not get the sub woofer. Does my system still come with an amp in the trunk?

Yes, all Boston Acoustic systems have the amp. The subs are just an optional addition. I opted out due to pricing.

After reviewing everything on their site I may get the 2012 & Up Camaro Coupe 5 Channel Total System Enhancement Package instead. Called them on the phone but got voice mail. Once they call me back and answer a few questions I think I will place my order.

if you call Steve @ ******** he can put the Line Out Converter in your kit. He did this for my 1SS without the BA stereo. Makes install a breeze. Hardest part is getting the box into place. After that it's all gravy.

Steve called me back today and recommended the 12-5g-INT12 for what I want. Plus it is the simplest to install so I ordered it and the woofer grill. Can't wait for it to arrive and get it installed.
