I had my headers on for 2 months before I got a tune. With long tubes ONLY it went 12.8x at the track.

Been running my LT's untuned for 5-6 months now. Made a big difference from stock even without a tune. I do have a CEL which came on 3-4 days after I installed the headers. I'm considering getting it tuned soon since I just added a ported TB, but we'll see. Aside from smelling rich at idle, it runs fine.

I have longtubes with highflow cats, no tune, no engine light. I can feel a power difference for shure. I used o2 extension pipes to fool the ecm into thinking the cats are working, ben that way for 9 months and it just passed an obd2 inspection. There is no garantee my engine light won't come on tomorrow but for now, untill I want to void my warranty it works.

Too Late

Truth is if you show up at a dealer with your mods and you broke a drivetrain part they will deny you warranty if they believe it is at all related to the extra power.

I suspect the OP has other mods besides the LT headers, I could be wrong, but the Flat spot could indeed be a lean tip in condition.

Ted.

I have stainless works long tubes and high flow cats but they were on the car when i bought it. I get a check engine light occassionally (so i assume that means the car isnt tuned). Car seems fine. very powerful.
Just wondering though. If i tuned the car, would i be able to pick up some MPG that im losing somewhere because i have no tune for the headers and such?

I have the Kooks LTs high flow cats and a 3" cat back.... got tired of it feeling a little sluggish mid rpm range in 3rd and 4th. Not to mention the CEL... dropped it off for a tune today....

No tune yet. It's been a month or so. Installed the LT's in the driveway and just haven't had time to tune with the holidays. Likely will this month though. I'm definitely tired of the CEL.

I still can't make up my mind between a JRE remote tune and a local shop, though.
