yes, the law was only recently changed. either at the end of last year, or the beginning of this year. Your favorite tint place will also know this... more $$ for them since people know it's legal now

October 31, 2009 was the date that the New Tint Law went into effect.
That is why I am going to have my windows tinted. As a Police Officer we have to lead by example hence no tint on our front windows. But now.........I can have it.
Its always been an officer safety issue because of not being able to see if a gun is behind that window to blow you away. What I always do is I get on the MIC and tell the driver and passenger to pull their windows down. No big deal. My Camaro is going to look HOT with tint!
I might go to that place that was mentioned in Oswego. I need a good tint shop to do the job right.

You need to talk to any officer friends you have in Chicago, the city is completely ignoring the state tint law.

I just had my windows tinted today at Bill Jacobs where I bought my Camaro from in Joliet. They have a guy that tints for them. He tinted my windows 35 percent all the way around with 3m tint and life time warranty for $250.00. It cost me a little more but he did a great job!! The rear window was done in one piece. 35 percent is legal and more than dark enough.

i got 20% all the way around 200 bucks in michigan, and no tint legal here fml lol

but it looks really sexy and my the windows go down fast if i see a cop lol

We just got ours done at Mr 50's customs in olympia fields. It cost $160 and we got 35%. They did a good job. You do need an appt.

3M is supposed to be the best, I think Lumnar is 3M? I keep hearing people

only paying $200 or less, that sounds great!

I had a car done in 2007 at Shaded Days in Lake Bluff, IL. They do many cars for KNAUZ BMW, Mercedes dealer. They use Llumnar tint with a lifetime guarantee and is said to be the best. They do tinting for several other dealers in the area like Audi, etc.

I asked price, $275 plus tax. Kind of high, I told him others are paying $160-200, and he said he would take $250 out the door CASH ONLY. I guess thats OK, as they are close to me and I was satisfied with the job they did on my TL.

I went to another place in 2007 that looked like another highly rated place, It was called NEW WAVE in Kenosha, Wisconsin on hwy 60. I was going to have them do my TL but ended up at Shaded Days. I called NEW WAVE and I got no answer.

The side windows would be pretty easy to tint because the driver and pass doors don't have frames, and the rear sides have the black outline, but I will NEVER do a rear window again. If I could find a good quality tint material I would do the sides myself.

Mid America Glass Tinting in Schaumburg did mine $200, a professional tinting business not some doing as a side job. Had them redo my Impala afterward, great to deal with.

My buddy actually owns Shaded Days. I've been taking my cars to him for years now with no issues ever. He guarantees everything for life as well.

Yah they do good work. But I decided to tint my side windows

myself. Its VERY cheap and easy with no frames.

I will have the tint for the rear window, BUT will not try to

do it, back windows are a pain in the A$$.

Many Light years ago I tinted my cars along with some friends,

I remember doing the rear windows, and I don't like it..........
