Top down temps

If the tempature is below 65 and expecting to get colder when starting to drive I will not lower the top. With the wind chill it's just too cool for me.

If the tempature is above 90 and expecting to get warmer when starting out I will not put the top down either. Just too dang hot for me.

Now yes I have been driving and while on my trip the temp ended up in the mid 50's but I just put the heat on and heated seats on.
Conversely I have had the top down and while driving the temps went to almost 100 I just turned the A/C on with the top down.

I have in the past went for a local cruise on the back roads with the top down at 30* but that was slow speeds and just for kicks.

Ok I have my limits, how about you guys?

Temp really depends on where I'm driving. 45 degrees outside, but just cruising to the grocery store, top down. 45 degrees but on the freeway.....top up.

Here in Houston, humidity plays a part in top up/top down decision. 82 degrees with 90+% humidity.....top up.

I've always been a Northern Tier animal. I've lived in Chicago, Montreal, and Anchorage. It never gets cold enough for me!
I've driven to work last winter with the top down and temps in the 50's. The sun feels great. Likewise, I don't mind the top down with temps in the upper 90's, IF its late in the evening and the sun is down. I just don't enjoy the baking sensation here in the Tucson sun at 104. I always consider the temp and the sun exposure before I drop the top.

You sound like an IDEAL candidate for a coupe with a sunroof. That way, you get the best of both worlds without having to choose between one (top up) or the other (top down). Just kidding, of course.

I have had my top down in everything from 38 on up... I will say I don't always drop my top, there have been a couple 100 degree days that I just felt I'd rather have the air on.

I will say that an observation I have made that I don't understand is the number of convertibles i see on those "perfect" warm afternoons driving around with their tops up. No, I'm not picking on just the camaros here, I'm talking all convertibles. I guess my thoughts on it is that you own a convertible especially for those perfect days of top down bliss, why not use it?

I bought a convertible to drive with the top down. From 45 to 105.

On a sunny day 55 and above and it goes down. For hot I go on the humidity level and time of day if its noon 95 and humid I may use the air but I go topless 95% of the time if its not raining. Nothing better than a top down drive on a warm summer night IMO.

I'm with Bodih on this one. Out of the direct sunlight here, that fiery little bugger up there sets my noodle on fire out here in the desert. Also, I contracted "Valley Fever" this year, so the cleaner the air the better off I am going to be! That was no holiday, took 5 months to shake that gig.

There's really nothing like a drive out and around with the top down in some good weather, anything in the low 70's to the 90's is good. Mostly at night or at dusk when the convection oven is a little less intense. Hopefully top #3 will make it even more enjoyable, we didn't use the top very much since it's been a nightmare. It's in the installer's hands as of today, so hopefully all will be good for some serious cruising when the heat breaks in a few months.

As long as it's 50 or higher, I'll have it down. Of course that's without a hat or gloves - with those, I'll take it down at 40F....

Took my buddy, who is a farmer, a ride through the country the other day when it was 105 degrees, to check out the crops that are burning up. Had the AC on full blast but it was about too damn hot with the top down.
