Go for it. That stuff rocks. Do a search and you'll find plenty of pics!

It peels right off, I have matte black rims and have had sum curb checks and that stuff comes in handy in covering them up! Like if they never happened.

I was thinking of doing that to my stockers that I'm using for snow tires, but someone told me that it might be hard to get the brake dust from embedding into the covering?

I'm sure it'll absorb some brake dust but again...this stuff is meant to be temporary and is easy to reaply. I've seen some people paint over plastidip as well. Comes out very nice....you get the painted finish and you can still peel it off very easily. If you live in a city where salt and snow is an issue this stuff is great for polished rims. You can keep a protective layer over your polished wheels (which wears very fast in bad winters) and peel it off in the summer.
