Also a super snake is 850 hp at the block and it cost only $40,000 more - not to sure you are going to get 100 rwhp with those simple mods.

Dennis on here has simple bolt ons and tune, 13 gt500, 721whp and wtq to match, you have a built/stroked block basically 5.8L(yes I know we have 6.2) but he has 2.3L blower while we have the baby 1.9L!

Whipple 4L, KB 3.6LC units on our cars with some extra work I can only imagine but considering they have full interior street able gt500 running 8's now at 159mph I'm sorry don't see the zl1 doing this in the near future!

I own a Zl1 with 661whp and loveeeee it and wouldn't trade it for anything! Doesn't mean I'm a brand nazi and think chev has the gt500 from all angles,

8.9@159 and dyno video

620 was the highest I have seen, actually it was 619, there are however numerous cars that are pulling 600-610s rwhp. It really is amazing and I suspect Ford under-rated this car a bit. These cars are also trapping as high as 127 mph stock in cool weather, which backs up the dyno numbers. I think it's safe to assume that the 500 is producing every bit of it's advertised hp and then some.

So you get the idea. Instead I think you are better off to work on getting your car to be more efficient, learn how to launch and drive it. Last week a member here drove a stock ZL1 with DRs to an 11:50s pass. That pass would beat 90% of the stock 13-500s out there. IMO this is much more impressive than somebody throwing a bunch of dollars at their car to boast about hp numbers.
What you and the guy who posted below you are forgetting is that the 13 500 already has a CAI and it's already running like 4 more lbs of boost! I do agree that it's not a huge deal to concern yourself with the numbers as much as with driver skill, but numbers tell the tale when you put equally matched drivers on the dragstrip. Is there a time slip anywhere showing a stock GT 500 running 11.5s? More food for thought, although the track pack does not add any additional horsepower, it does reduce the usability of the vehicle. You can't take it to a road coarse, whereas we can so the ZL1 takes a point there. The basic argument is dollar for dollar, part for part, the ZL1 is the better car. It comes more well equipped at such a similar price and theoretically if everything were the same i.e. 2300 blower, 12-14 lbs of boost or whatever the 500 is running, and CAI the ZL1 would destroy the GT500. The debate will always continue, but I wish you guys would stop with the GT500 stock conversation when clearly there is nothing similar about the two cars in their stock conditions.

Hahaha

It would be cool to see that Torq car vs a stock '13-'14. As for the 11.5 stock timeslips I think the svtp fast list has a few around that time or faster. Not saying any of them are legit though.

I seriously doubt Ford would unrate the car over a 100 hp. This is the press release. If someone is get 620 rwhp, they are not stock, maybe its tuning (I doubt), but they are not stock.

*UPDATE: We've received an official press release from Ford quoting power figures of 662 horsepower and 631 pound-feet of torque, making the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500's engine the most powerful production V8 in the world.

Originally, Ford was rating it at 650 hp. If they updated and added 12 hp, they would not under rate it over 100 hp.

I think we are drifting off top, as the topic states slay a gt500! And he has posted mag articles basically saying what upgrades are needed to do so!

I posted those mad videos and talked about mods, people arguing what the gt500 has stock isn't anything to do what slaying one!

They have 662bhp we have 580bhp and we loose the few hundred pound weight difference as well

I think kenne bell, whipple, <-- big boys should get on a kit for us cause between us and caddies it will move products!!!

There's a quick slayin remedy, orrr

Just drop is off at davenport like you were planning jay! Lol :-)

Like I said do a little digging, there are numbers everywhere. What amazes me even more than the rwhp of the 500 is the incredible rwtq numbers.

Direct dyno comparison same day / time.

I will leave it with this - if you want to slay something, you need to know what your up against.

Here is dyno of ZL1 vs GT 500 same day same dyno - it should be noted that I think both are a little high, but a good comparison. So one would have to get at least 100 rwhp more with upgrades to match hp.

comparing a modded zl1 against a stock 500 is... not fair sorry but its true, accept the fact that the camaro is not enough powerfull as the 500, but hey the zl1 can be taken to the track w out void the warranty and also the zl1 in not a straigtlane 680 hp boat unable to turn w some big traction issues + the zl1 looks killer in almost every color... the 500 only looks killer in black and every car looks killer in black (like a black 60's beattle) hehehe
