SW Ohio Spring 2012 Mod Day



Mod Day:
Planning is underway for the Spring mod day at the Heinz shop in Jamestown, OH. Format will similar to last year with less intense mods and more time for socializing and showing off our mods.

If you are interested in attending, please either post in this thread or send me a private message with the mods you would like help with.

Date: Saturday, April 28, 2012 - 8 AM until work is done

Mods must be approved by me and may include:
- fluid changes (oil, manual transmission, rear differential)
- bulb installs
- shifter installs
- skip-shifter eliminator installs
- CAI installs
- brakes (pads, calipers, lines, bleeding)
- underside cleaning

Tools available:
- four-post lift with bridge jack for lifting one end of car off its wheels
- jacks & jack stands
- common hand tools
- cleaning supplies (paper towels, hand cleaner, hose, bucket, wash mitt, soap, Porter Cable polisher) [Bring your own towels, polishes/waxes]

Food:
- Water, sodas & ice will be available
- Breakfast @ 9 - coffee & donuts
- Lunch @ 12 – Pizza delivered from Bentino’s (NOTE – I moved pizza to lunch time instead of dinner time like last year.)
- Dessert @ 3 – Homemade ice cream

Waste Oil Heater:
We now have our waste oil heater operating so if it is cold outside, we can work on our cars inside at a comfortable temperature. If you have any waste oil to dispose of, I will be glad to take it off your hands.

How you can help:
- Bring any parts and instructions for anything to be installed


- Bring any special tools that may be needed for installation (unless you've confirmed such tools will be available)


- IROCanSS – If at all possible you must bring William to introduce him to our Camaro group. Perhaps you can convince both Scott Settlemire and Al Oppenheiser to come in Camaro ZL1s to top last year’s appearance from Scott.

- hrpiii – Perhaps you would invite you friend, Madonna. You don’t need dress up in your Roman garb and carry her in as far as I’m concerned (unless others insist). Also, with your Roman contacts, perhaps you can hook us up with some of those scantily clad slaves like in Spartacus.

- rachykells – Perhaps you would provide medical care when IROCanSS draws blood working on the cars.

- LadyinBlue – Feel free to bring your Corvette again. I will be inviting two other Corvette owners.

Other:
I will be inviting a family friend who held some world drag racing records in his day. If we are lucky, he will bring the Chevy “Underdog” he used to get those records. He is also an expert on Muncie and Borg Warner T10 transmissions if anyone happens to need such help.

I will rent a portable restroom again.

Hot Rod Magazine Top Speed Challenge / Ohio Mile
The top Speed Challenge will be going on in nearby Wilmington, OH on Friday, April 27 to Sunday, April 29. Some people may try to leave mod day to watch some of this event.

Location - 2870 Old State Road 73, Wilmington, OH (Airborne Airpark)

Spectators - $10 a day, $15 for all days, bring your own chair

Schedule
- Friday 8 AM to 5 PM+
- Saturday 8 AM to 6 PM
- Sunday 8 AM to 2 PM

LOL! I am in, and I will bring my slippers. No word on the driveshaft loop yet, Frank is working on making something that works...

other dates that are free for me:

3/10, 3/11, maybe a few others... there are some things going on that I may be able to bug out of. I really want this stuff on my car!

I spoke with a mutual friend about bringing something with him... hes not sure yet... He needs more information.


I am good with either pizza at the shop or out.

I may get it back in mid May, but that's a long shot. If I do have my car, then I might try to put the dash ABL lighting in it.

I would love to do some hands-on help with mods. I've learned how to take the front facia off and can help with things like Heritage Grill installs.

Woo Hoo!

Been looking forward to this since we finished the fall cruise.

I don't think I can wait to put the halo's and wind restrictor on since both should be here within the week so you can take those off my list.

I'm good for any weekend except the end of March and end of May, I picked up a new project at work that keeps me off 2nd shift and frees up my weekends but I have to travel between here, LA and Alabama some.

Mods: I'm definitely going to have OBX LT headers for install and would like to do an RX catch can if we have time.

Date: I don't know what weekends I'll have to work yet. I'll find out when I start at the hospital on the 12th. Hopefully if there's a date in stone by then, I can ask to not work that weekend. Looks like a lot of people are busy in late spring-- I'd totally be down for doing it March 10 or 11 but I'd need to know ASAP so I can order the parts.

And I don't mind providing medical care... even for Jason.

Blech! Dirty diapers. That is one thing I cannot do. I can handle bowel surgeries, hip & knee replacements, c-sections... but poop and vomit is not cool.

So, just putting it out there now that Rach does NOT change diapers as part of said "medical" care. :P
