Whipple capable of 550whp on stock internals?

I'm reading about the 2.9L Whipple S/C and it says it can push 550-600whp on a stock LS3 motor. The kit comes with upgraded injectors and i guess a fuel rail/fuel rail mod of some kind, but it clearly says those HP numbers can be attained on a completely stock LS3, has anyone on here achieved these kind of numbers on a stock motor, and if so, was it reliable? Did any parts break as a result? J/W, all these folks get all kinds of engine parts w/o a S/C and only get around 450whp, seems like getting a whipple would give me everything I want without having to install all kinds of other parts.

I think 550whp is like the minimum most supercharged cars put out. Theres N/A cam cars out there that are over 500whp. Not sure where you have seen 450whp supercharged cars, unless they're pushing 5psi or something. 600whp is easily obtainable on a stock engine with S/C.

Yes it is possible if you get a custom tune and not the canned tune from whipple.

Check again. A maggie on an auto car will do 450-470 and 490-500 on a stock car. Whipple just a bit more. Now if you add headers, custom tune, pulley down, etc the numbers go way up but bone stock with the supplied calibration I don't think any of them do 550rwhp.

Yeah..auto cars...tranny eats up power but at the drag strip it won't look that way. Op has a manual...I'd bet low 5s out the box depending on your dyno. And if you don't know, dynos may swing 50whp themselves one to another.

Blower kit, headers, CAI, custom tune and you will be pushing 600 rwhp with a manual.

The stock internals can handle all the power that would be usable on the street.

Yes, your LS3 can easily obtain 550 plus HP, by bolting on a Whipple / Kit.

Longevity of your engine will not necessarily be adversley affected, based of course on how you use and drive the car.

How your bottom end last is highly dependent on the fuel system and tune. I have an L99 with 850 RWHP and it is set right around 700 RWHP for the street and it is my daily driver on a stock bottom end. But at the end of the day we all know forged is the way to go, and eventually is inevitable.

wurrrrd. thanks guys. I'ma have to stack my pennies for a little while anyways if i want this. My dealer is willing to honor my warranty as long as they install the blower, so it's def got a good outlook.

When I first started the mods I had a maggie kit (5.5lbs boost), SLP catback and Roto-fab with a dyno-tune and I was putting down 521rwhp. The internals were stock and the and the fuel pump was stock. On an LS3 with 10 or 11 lbs boost you can achieve the 600hp level but you will need to go with bigger injectors than the Whipple kit comes with and a ZL1 fuel pump or a BAP at minimum.

correct...but you need the ADM fpcm and then the kit of your choice. Talk to andy at ADM...he will steer you straight on the fpcm.
